After the disaster of Marmite Crunchy Peanut Butter, my husband decided he wanted to try the Marmite Houmous… ’Why???!!!’ I asked myself. After the peanut butter was so disgustingly salty, why would he want to go and try the houmous too? Well, low and behold… I had to try it myself, didn’t I?

Ok… where do I begin with this one. First of all, I’m sure hummus is spelled hummus and not ’houmous’. It looks like hummus and smells like hummus, but does it taste like hummus? Obviously, I know this is going to have Marmite flavour in it, but was it as salty as the peanut butter? Yes it was! This was just as disappointing as the peanut butter. It wasn’t as salty, but it wasn’t far off. I thought hummus was supposed to be healthy. Definitely not with the salty taste of this. Not good for anyone’s blood pressure! The texture was nice and again, you definitely got the flavour of the Marmite, but the saltiness was just wrong. No thank you!

Definitely wouldn’t recommend this either. Far too salty. Now the weird thing is, this has been given 3.1 stars out of 5. Who in this right mind would even contemplate giving this anything more than 2 stars and that’s a push! I know I have wonderful tastebuds as my husband calls me the ’super taster’ ,but seriously, these people must be smokers for them to think this is even remotely alright. It’s a big no from me!
