I forgot I had some of this left from December that was sealed and put in the cake box at the top of my cupboard. I really fancied something sweet, so I raided the cupboard and came across this.

As soon as you rip open the packaging, you can smell the stickiness and the gingerness off the cake. The cake is very moist and if you squeeze it in anyway, it will stay in that position. The cake is a lovely rich, deep brown colour. You can feel the stickiness a mile off. Lovely! The texture was as good as it looked. The flavour was packed full of spice and ginger. It was sweet but not overly sweet.
I could have easily have eaten the whole cake when it was first opened. I did have warm, thick custard with it let time, so that’s probably the reason why there was a chunk of cake left. The cake that was left really wasn’t enough and I wish I had some more. Usually I bypass this in the cake aisle. It was only my husband who went out and bought it. I’m glad he did. This cake is definitely warm in flavour and very comforting.
