After the last few disasters I’ve had with a few sweet treats, I decided to have something savoury instead. My husband does like to hoard his crisps, and these were in the stash. Needless to say I was intrigued about them, so I gave them a try.
Co-op Irresistible Ultimate Roast Potato Hand Cooked Crisps
”Seasoned with Cornish sea salt, extra vigin olive oil, garlic, rosemary and black pepper."
My first thought was what was the point in having roast potato flavoured crisps? I mean crisps are already potato… so what was new? I was expecting to get that taste of a crispy yet fluffy Sunday roast potato flavour, boy was I disappointed. A while ago I wrote about Kettle Chips Rosemary & Sea Salt, and I said how much I hated them. Well, these weren’t far off the Kettle Chips. All I got was a strong salt and rosemary flavour. Nothing else. Albeit the crunch was there and the texture was nice, but the flavour… just noooooo! These were horrid!
I can’t believe how bad these were. You know that saying ’Never judge a book by its cover?” Well, it’s true. From the outside these looked and sounded divine. On the inside, there was nothing but a horrible, salty, soapy flavour! I couldn’t wait to hand these back to my husband. Do not waste your money! Make some roast potatoes and scoff them instead!
