Hello Everyone,

My husband bought me this cake as he thought it looked really nice and would be right up my street. I never saw one like this before, so I was more than willing to give it a try.

Co-op Irresistible Clementine & Belgian Chocolate Cake

The first thing we both thought when we saw the description was this was going to taste like a Jaffa Cake. It did as it happens, but before I get to the flavour, let me tell you how moist this cake was. First of all I loved the colour of the orange frosting, it was a very pale orange, almost yellow colour. The clementine swirls were thick and sticky. The swirls were very decorative. So I cut this cake into quarters. I took my piece and ran my fork down the nose of the cake. It cut very nicely. It wasn’t crumbly and I loved the smell of the cake. The buttercream was very orangey and citrusy. The swirls had a lot of flavour in them, but it was when you ate this along with the cake and the chocolate ganache filling… Oh my Gog!! Mmm! this was delicious. It really tasted like a very posh Jaffa Cake. The cake as I said was moist and the ganache was smooth and chocolatey. It worked really well with the buttercream and the swirls. Also the cake was a yellowy / orange colour too. Looked a little odd for a cake of this site, but I have to say, this cake was devine!

A very delicious chocolate and orange cake. So nice, I ate half of the cake. My husband only had a quarter so that left one slice left. I was soon tempted to eat that too, but I stopped myself with great difficulty.
