New Tunes, 4.3.2022

Hello music lovers! 🎡🎧🎀🎡

I hope you don't follow too much global media (except music and other arts, of course) because times are not exactly rosy, given what's going on around you.
Will music help us to survive this, again, new reality?
With the brain and the intellect alone, it seems to me, what is happening simply cannot be comprehended.

Again #newtunes, music released in the last couple of months, maybe already hinting at what will happen in the near future.
But you'll have to sacrifice a few minutes of your time. As usual, nothing is mandatory. If you don't like something, feel free to skip it. 😁

Scorpions - When You Know (Where You Come From)

With their 19th album in a row, the Scorpions decided to remind the world that they are still here and what good rock sounds like.
Music critics say 'Rock Believer' is one of the best albums of Scorpions' career and brings out the essence of their signature sound. This song is the introduction to the album and of course, a classic of the hard rock sound recommended to all fans.

Dora Jar - It's Random

This is probably the first time you've heard of this American artist (she's a new name to me too), but Dora Jar is a rising indie star with an original style that combines folk music and electronic elements with hip-hop beats into infectious pop. In this song, her vocals remind me of Kate Bush. You will definitely be hearing more from her in the near future.

🎡🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Shwamp - Oscalated

They are from Taitung, Taiwan. The philosophy of Zen Buddhism and Tao Te Ching is covered with minimalistic, almost techno rhythmic electronica, while wrapped in a layer of psychedelia, melodic tones, and samples from the real world.
They will take you on a journey full of emotions and gratitude.

🎡🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

PIXIES - Human Crime

First new music in two years. I've been a fan since the beginning, I've watched them in student dining halls, a bit bigger garages, and small clubs when they weren't even known yet, so I was excited to hear this new song. Classics.
The one essence of their sound is still there, still glowing, and hasn't been lost over the years. This world needs more Pixies.

🎡🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

J.R. August - Dealing With The Pain

A new name for me, but it's a respected Croatian author and musician. 'Dealing with the pain' is the first single off the new album. The video is meant to illustrate the biblical story in the year 2022, a year that has only just begun, but which we would all like to see forget.

🎡🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

FOALS - 2am

The first single from Foals' new album 'Life Is Yours' in three years. Fans of the band will certainly not be disappointed.
They still stick to their own nostalgic minimalist style, with a combination of synths and guitars. They certainly transcend the stereotypes of pop as a genre and, if you ask me, it's very cool pop.

🎡🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

Cities Aviv - Black pleasure

Wilbert Gavin Mays aka Cities Aviv, Tennessee rapper, has been making music for a decade. His music is based on introspection and mirroring his own psyche in cloud rap. In his latest album 'Man Plays the Horn', he places himself in the present with abstract and sleepy, dreamy sound, with a touch of retrospection. The beats are chopped and shifted, and the bounciness is complemented by cascades of psychedelic effects.
It updates black romanticism by sampling black art and snippets of poetry, highlighting themes of love, self-actualization, and emancipation.

🎡🎧 🎀 🎧 🎡

AUTHOR & PUNISHER - Incinerator

One-man industrial metal attraction from San Diego, Author & Punisher aka Tristan Shone. A mechanical engineer by training and an artist who builds his own Drone and Dub music controllers from open-source electronic circuit boards. His work focuses on the interaction between industrial automation and robotics.
This song, a brutal drone doom industrial is the single from his latest album 'KrΓΌller' which critics say is his best yet.
Currently on a European tour, maybe I'll go and listen to it in Zagreb on April 1st.
