This week has gone by in a flash and I almost didn't manage to prepare this #newtunes post.

As usual, there was a lot of music and it's hard to quickly choose the most suitable from everything that sounds in my head.

Bono & The Edge - Sunday Bloody Sunday

Bono and The Edge in an acoustic version of Sunday Bloody Sunday, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the massacre, when on 30 January 1972, in Derry, Northern Ireland, British soldiers shot at a protest march, killing 14 unarmed people. Ten years after the incident, this song appeared on the album 'War' and Bono said at the time:

The song will be sung wherever there are rock fans with mullets and rage, from Sarajevo to Tehran.

Joshua Ray Walker: Sexy After Dark

Joshua Ray Walker is a singer-songwriter and country musician from Dallas, Texas, known for his dynamic falsetto vocals, made his debut on The Tonight Show, where he performed one of his more popular hits. Country enhanced with brass/woodwind instruments, of course, perfect for fans.

Liam Gallagher - Everything's Electric

Liam invited Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters) and together they wrote this nice song in which Grohl also plays drums. The song is to appear on Liam's forthcoming album 'C'mon You Know'. As you can read in the media:

the pair wanted to meld the thunderous dynamics of Beastie Boys ‘Sabotage’ with the spiraling tension and danger of the Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter.

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Black Summer

The inimitable Red Hot Chili Peppers return to the scene with their latest album, their 12th in a row, 'Unlimited Love', and new/old guitarist John Frusciante. With 'Black Summer' dominated by a hypnotic groove, eclectic guitar, and introspective vocals, they're sure to warm the hearts of many fans.

The Range - Bicameral

James Hinton, better known as The Range, is an American electronic musician and producer, also known for the documentary 'Superimpose' has published a new song called Bicameral. A creative blend of electronica, house, and animation, it is sure to appeal to fans of the genre.

Guerilla Toss - Cannibal Capital

New York-based rock band has been cruising the artistic waters for about 10 years. The new album Famously Alive, written at home in the shelter of a pandemic crisis and due for release in March this year, is introduced by the opening track 'Cannibal Capital'. We are advised to look inside ourselves and we will discover a luminescence that will launch us into the light.

Earl Sweatshirt - Sick!

WTF is Earl Sweatshirt? I spent some time trying to figure out that this is Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, an American rapper, and songwriter, best known for being a member of the alternative hip hop collective Odd Future, who disappeared into Samoa for a while after the break-up of Odd Future to come back to himself. Sick! is his third and final album. The track of the same name is a kind of introduction, and if you listen well they didn't call it that for nothing:

the most exciting rapper to emerge in years, a virtuoso who was just starting to figure out what he could do with words. Source

John Mayall - A Quitter Never Wins

When you're 89 years old, 66 years on the scene, and you've just released a new album a couple of weeks ago (The Sun is Shining Down), it begs the question: how and who is capable of something like that? The answer is John Mayall.
His professional career has been going on longer than I'm old, I admit I'm seven years younger, but I know that many guys who are now legends have played with his Bluesbreakers. I won't name them. But John Mayall plays, composes, and performs because he loves it. It's as simple as that, no lofty philosophy. This song is just like that. Straightforward, pure British blues.
