How's going? Have you been to any concerts lately? I, unfortunately, have not :(
My head is full of music and that's good. Here are some of the tunes I've been listening to the last few days. Some of them will stay with me for a long time. If anyone likes anything I'll be glad.
I listen to this Santana's song after read the text in NYTimes 5 Minutes That Will Make You Love Brahms. An excellent song, adapted from Symphony No.3.
Seattle's band TAD, which is one of the pioneers of the grunge style and I've been following them since their first songs, is still very underrated. It's about time they got their place in rock music history.
I already posted about this young band (my friend recorded the video). This one is the first official and they say that this is a satiric video and song about the delirium and self-destruction of the human being, due to the society we live in. Oh really? Very harsh, fast, direct, and brutal. Not for everyone.
This American rock band's style of playing in this song reminds me of the legend Bruce Springsteen and his arrangements. Great voice and song. Maybe it's just my metaphor, but what do I know...
I hadn't heard of this guy until recently. This song is the introduction to his debut album Meridian. Originally from Baltimore, USA, Miles finds his influences in bluegrass and country. This song is supposedly based on a true story, about the sad fate of a Mexican woman who played a prominent role in introducing psychedelic mushrooms to the public ...
tUnE-yArDs, a Californian art/rock/pop/indie band, has a new album, and this song is a part of it. I haven't heard them live yet (maybe one day I will...?) but people say that they create a great atmosphere at concerts.
Dry Cleaning, a new art-rock band from London with this piece presents their first album. Music critics hold them in high esteem. Will they save rock, I wonder? Never say no ...
And for the end, we return to some kind of psychedelic swing. St. Vincent, real name Annie Clark, goes back in time with this song and pays tribute to her idols, such as Joni Mitchell and Marilyn Monroe. The song is also an announcement for the album new album "Daddy's Home"
Listen loud!
