We roll through this amazing reality. Luckily we have music to support us in these crazy times. How much longer will this unbearable condition last? No answer.
But don't panic. The world is full of wonderful sounds and tunes. Keep going!
Hold On was a motivational track for the author. Hold on, stay strong, there will be better times. Repeat these words like a mantra every day. This piece is a call for resilience amidst turbulent times. Blindsmyth pumps our own well of inner strength. Highly recommended.
This Canadian band is new to me. The minimalist rhythm and repetition puts them somewhere between Joy Division, Can, or Suicide. Artistic neo-psychedelia. Although this piece was recorded in 2013 it sounds like it was written now, in these weird pandemic times.
For me, All Them Witches is an artistic band. Undoubtedly, the fact that they are from Nashville, Texas, USA has a great influence on their creation. Very diverse in style from folk, blues, and psychedelic bands from the sixties, classic rock, and in this piece dub. Great musicians.
EKV or Ekaterina Velika is my favorite band from the former Yugoslavia. In the 1970s and 1980s, rock music simply exploded there. There were a lot of great bands. I will now also present a group from this region every week. EKV had a very sad fate. All members died young, at the beginning of their creative journey. Really sad ending. Well, all their music will stay forever. The name of this piece means in English You are all my pain. Although it's from 1986, it still sounds fresh and modern today.
Fiona Apple is an outstanding author, pianist and poet. She proves this with a host of music awards and each of her albums. The latter is no different either. Strain your ears!
Well, this is a kind of promotion because it's very fresh. Jure Lesar is younger Slovenian musician who has just begun his musical journey. In his songs, he with great feeling interweaves direct rock guitar sound with sincere messages. This song is called Thirst in English.
Great live performance of Rhythm Changes at Pitchfork Music Festival 2016 by Kamasi Washington's group. The American jazz musician is one of the world’s most prominent saxophonists. If you listen to the piece you will immediately understand why.
After a long time, System of A Down came out with the EP Protect the land. You can buy this EP at the Bandcamp for $2, all the earnings go to provide crucially and desperately needed aid and basic supplies for those affected in Azerbaidjan against Armenian war.
Listen loud!
