New Tunes, 26.11.2021

Hello music lovers! 🎡🎧🎀🎡

What musical activities will you be doing today and for the weekend?
Learn about, understand and interpret the sounds, songs, and rhythms around you that penetrate our consciousness through our senses, first of all, our hearing, addresses our feelings and triggers a variety of responses when we listen to them?

One tip, it's not free because you pay for it with your precious time (if you dare, of course) :) 😁 πŸ‘Ύ 🍻

Here you have #newtunes, new tracks, new sounds, and new melodies from the airwaves, chosen to be shared and to reach out and touch those who don't have as much attention or time.

If you like something, that's great and you can let me know in the comments, but if you don't enjoy it, feel free to skip it.

Let's go!

🎡🎧🎀

Ryuichi Sakamoto - Aqua (from Playing Piano for the Isolated)

Ryuichi is a versatile musical artist, from composing film scores to being part of the Yellow Magic Orchestra, an important 1970s electronic band whose influences can still be felt in modern music today. More than that, I think he needs no introduction to the music public.
This is his new composition and here we meet him as a pianist. Personally, it's a long time since I have heard such exquisite, calm yet explosively emotional piano playing. What can I say but fantastic!

🎡🎧🎀

Mastodon - Teardrinker

This song by an American metal band is taken from their new album 'Hushed and Grim'. Mastodon is one of those bands that brings something new with each new album while maintaining their distinctive sound.
On this album, they mainly deal with death and the loss of loved ones to whom they dedicate their music. This song is no exception. I recommend it for fans of this sound.

🎡🎧🎀

AYA - The only solution I have found is to simply jump higher

A new name for me. She's a British electronic producer, formerly known as LOFT, and this track is from her debut album 'im hole'. You can recognize British garage genres like hypnotic dub and hardcore in the sound, but the dominant principle is nonchalantly toying with arpeggiating synth melodies, layered together to create a dreamlike, playful world.
The song (and the whole album) leaves the impression that it was not intended as an entertainment product for mass consumption, but rather as a sonic exploration of where else we can go with electronic music.

🎡🎧🎀

Low Life - Agony & XTC

A new punk band for me. Not so new, they were formed in 2010 in Sydney, Australia and after years of persistent music-making, they have become one of the more recognizable icons of the Australian punk scene.
Their style is reminiscent of the dark punk, hardcore, and industrial styles typical of the eighties, with distorted dominant guitars and echoing vocals playing a major role in their sound. I cannot but recommend it.

🎡🎧🎀

The Screaming Wheels - Before the Sun

The Screaming Wheels, a blues band from Istria, Croatia, is regionally very close to me, they continue the tradition of the bands I know from these places (Atomsko SkloniΕ‘te, Messerschmitt, Spoons, for example) which sound always very worldly and global. In any style.
The album 'Istramental' and this track is typical of that kind of work, blues rock, perfectly produced, exquisitely played so I'm sure the fans will be delighted.

🎡🎧🎀

Bloc Party - Traps

Bloc Party is not so young English indie rock band, and this is an intro to the new album 'Alpha Games' which go out in April 2022.
Modern post-punk, rooted in rock and mixed with other genres, mostly electronic, highlights the neurotic character of our reality and the distress of the modern average person who always lacks something to be satisfied.
A very good culmination of everything they have written so far. Highly recommended.

🎡🎧🎀

Parquet Courts - Homo Sapien

That's the second video from the new album 'Sympathy for Life' released in October. This respected New York band emerged from the post-punk greyness, most notably by collaborating with well-known producer Danger Mouse on 'Wide Awake' (2019), which took them to the world stage.
With this song, they return to their roots of the panic and chaos of the New York jungle, without psychedelia and electronica, only the brutal rhythm of the single-riff guitar and the honesty in the lyrics.

🎡🎧🎀

Wet Leg - Chaise Longue

It's quite unusual for a band to become hugely popular after just two singles, with streams and views in the millions. There must be something in this band. Well, that's what happened to the British indie band Wet Leg from the Isle of Wight. The driving force behind the band are two school friends who decided to get into music in 2019 and now we are where we are. A US tour is planned for this December.
The sound is dominated by guitars and clean vocals. This is one of two singles, you can see the official videos on YT and this video is a live performance from the Green Man Festival at the end of this summer.
