Summer is sunny and hot, that’s true, but the feelings aren’t the same as in previous years. Everything is different (you know, because of this #covid19 shit) but the music is still a lot.
Since I was on a short break at sea a week ago, I prepared some music to listen to in the shade and with a beer. Here is part of my playlist and if you like it, it's cool, I'll add more next time 😎
Mick Harvey - Out Of Time Man
I follow Mick's music for years from The Birthday Party, collaboration with Nick Cave and Bad Seeds, P.J.Harvey and with many others. This piece is cover of Manu Chao (Mano Negra) tune, but mostly and worldwide known as a last song in Breaking Bad pilot. Also, it's similar to the Iggy Pop's Passenger.
Esperanza Spalding w/Geri Allen & Terri Lyne Carrington - Unconditional Love
Esperanza Spalding is an amazing talent. She really deserved Grammy 2011 for the Best new artist. Many label her as "jazz musician", well, maybe here, in this piece, where she performs this classic with two other amazing ladies.
Mira Bilotte - As I Went Out This Morning
Heard somewhere that this is the best cover of Dylan's song. Yeah, I can agree with that. The piece is from soundtrack I'm Not There.
Teho Teardo And Blixa Bargeld - A Quiet Life
My first meeting with Teho Teardo, italian composer. I added it because I watched Blix Bargeld live twice, once with Einstürzende Neubauten and once with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Phenomenal performance. This song, however, is dark, slow, and lifelike.
Calexico - Victor Jara's Hands
This is the Calexico hommage to Chilean teacher and artist tortured and killed during dictatorship of Pinochet. The first song from Carried To Dust album from 2008. Great melody.
Lightning Bolt - The Metal East/Blow To The Head/USA Is A Psycho
Part of the live performance of this loud and noise duo. They play this stuff for 25 years, sharply and uncompromisingly. R'n'r is not dead, for sure 😎

One of the most recognized artists in electronic dance music production. His fusion of sounds and styles is always precise and unique. Minimal, simple, overwhelmingly intense, and beautiful.
