Beer Tasting: Varionica Deep Dive IPA and Bergkonig's OL 43 Hazy IP...

Hello, beer tasters! 🍻 😎 🍻

It's #beersaturday and time for research new beers. I'm still quite lucky here, the summer heat is coming to an end, but the brewers have woken up and there are all the beers you want.
But the rule is, I guess, like everywhere, that 80% of all products are rubbish and that you have to work hard to get a very good beer :)

Two new beers in front of me again and I wonder if I'll respect them or if they will quickly fade into oblivion ... I'll start, as I did last time, with the one that contains less alcohol ...

Varionica Deep Dive IPA

Brewed by microbrewery Varionica, Pisarovina, Croatia. Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6% ABV. They say:

Dive into the depths of taste and smell. Enjoy in the bitterness and seductive fruity notes of hops. Highly drinkable with tropical and stone fruit aromas.

According to what I read (it says on every bottle) this beer must be fantastic!

Beer is orange in color with huge foam. I have never seen so much foam in any beer? I just had to wait a while for it to fall down ... It smells like fresh hops, and that's nice.
The first sip is smooth through my throat, I felt the bitterness of the hops, but it didn’t hit like in IPA, more carefully than not. In the background are the flavors of tropical fruit but very discreet. The bitterness of the hops remains in the aftertaste for some time.

Fresh. Drinkable. I have no comments except that I expected, although the IBU has 50, more and more intense bitterness than is usually the case with IPA beers. Shy IPA I would say. But far from being bad. But it has a lot of foam.

Bergkonig's OL 43 Hazy IPA

Bought in local Hofer store. Brewed by Tektonik, Ljubljana, Slovenia for the Biergkonig limited edition, a Hofer brand.
OL means Open League. Tektonik is one of the first craft breweries in Slovenia and now has certain capacities which it also distributes through European sales chains. It’s more expensive than global industrial beers brands and better, of course. Hofer has been offering this for quite some time, which probably means that it's being bought ...
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.3% ABV.

The beer is cloudy and dark yellow in color, with a little head. The first sip smells of hops and goes smoothly down the throat. The bitterness of the hops is still quite evident.
I know it's an IPA with this beer, I wasn't so sure with the previous one... But the citrus aroma is more discreet, in the background. The hop flavor and the bitterness are still there in the aftertaste.

Drinkable, of course. But I missed the freshness I tasted in the first beer. It's more of an expressive IPA, that's true.

Both are solid beers and I wouldn't hesitate too much wherever I went if they had them. But that's about it. I wouldn't go into more details here ...
I have a friend who writes articles for the German Audiophile magazine and a while ago he showed me an article where he was debating the difference between a gold and a silver preamp cable 0.5 m long... ten A4 pages of text ... I really appreciate my friend, where he goes all the way into the details to the end ...
