Beer Tasting: Triger and Chang

Hello beer tasters!

Two new beers for taste, from different cultural and continental backgrounds. Can this difference affect the taste of beer?

I think it can, however, based on just one tasting we can’t conclude absolutely anything so take that with a grain of salt ...

Bergkönig’s Triger Lager

chang2.jpg

Brewed by mycrobrewery Tektonik, Ljubljana, Slovenia for the Hoffer food chain brand Bergkönig. One of the most popular microbrewery in Slovenia. Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.7% ABV.

For this beer, they say that the inspiration and starting point was Bavarian helles style, but they spiced it with Slovenian hop varieties.

The beer is a bright yellow color, the foam disappears quickly. The first sip is very fresh, light, there is almost no bitterness, you can feel the malt and finally a gentle touch of some citruses and bitterness that remains for some time.
Refreshing and drinkable I can say, maybe a little above average lager.

Chang Classic Lager

chang4.jpg

Brewed by a commercial brewery ThaiBev, Phra Nakhon, Thailand. Bought in foodchain Lidl, can, 0.33 l, alcohol 5% ABV. They say that the recipe of Chang Classic includes rice also, not only malt and hops.

The beer is light and clear yellow color with foam disappearing quickly. The first sip is almost not bitter, the taste of malt and hops in the background. There is also a certain aroma of herbs and citrus, but in the end everything disappears. The average lager, refreshing, has nothing special. But I didn't detect the rice.

So what did I learn?
Nothing special except that Lager is in stock everywhere 😎 :)
Although the distance between the breweries is over 10,000 km, the brewing process is the same. Which is good. Sure, there are some localities but they don’t affect much.
Globalization? Yes, beer is beer, whichever way you turn it 🍺 🍻

I'm listening to Kraftwerk - das Model from 1982. Florian Schneider, R.I.P😢
