Here is another dish I had during the week during my visit to Wagamama's. I love a prawn and I love katsu, so I was looking forward to see what this dish was like.
Wagamama Ebi Katsu
"Prawns in crispy panko breadcrumbs. coriander. fresh lime. chilli + garlic dipping sauce."
These prawns had such a crunchy coating what with being covered in panko breadcrumbs. They were very good and tasty. My husband ate the tail, but I had to leave the tail. To me that's like eating a fish bone. No thank you! The prawns were sweet and juicy. The dipping sauce was a lot spicier than expected. When I hiccup, I know it's too hot for me. That's all I did after the first couple of prawns I had. I had to give the sauce to my husband as he likes hot and spicy things.
These were really nice, but I thought they were going to have the same flavour as chicken katsu. I was surprised at how different this dish was. It was a delicious prawn dish and I would have it again. I was just a bit disappointed that it wasn't the same flavouring as what they have with chicken katsu.
