Last weekend I had enough of eating crisps and I wanted something sweet but savoury and there wasn't anything in the house apart from these biscuits. I didn't really want them but I made myself have them. Here's what I thought.
Mcvities VIB Caramel Indulgent Chocolate Cherry Digestive

I have had these before in three other flavours so I knew what I was expecting. I opened the packet and took out my first biscuit. It looked appetising and I gave it a smell. I could get a tiny but of cherry. However when I took my first bite, that's when I could really smell the cherry. The digestive was sweet and crumbly and I'm sure it had a bit of salt in it. Then the cherry caramel. I must admit I wasn't looking at the colour go the caramel, but I'm pretty sure it would have stood out if it was any other colour than a caramel colour. The flavour had quite a bit of cherry to it. It was a nice, pleasant taste. Not too much either. Some cherry flavours taste so chemically, it's horrible. Now I wouldn't go to say that these had a 100% fresh cherry taste. There was a little bit of a chemical taste to it, but not enough to stop me eating practically the whole packet. I was glad these were covered in milk chocolate or I don't think I would have liked them that much. The chocolate certainly added something to the cherry caramel. Overall a pleasant biscuit.
My husband had bought these ages ago and for some reason I just didn't fancy them. I think it was the whole idea of cherry and chocolate together. Although I do love a Black Forest gateau. I'm actually glad I did have them. They were much better than I thought they were going to be. As nice as they were, I don't think I will have them again. It's not normally a combination I would go for. Also there are much tastier flavours of VIBs. I particularly love the Caramel Orange ones and the Caramel Hazelnut ones. I'm glad I got to try them.
