Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
Now known as the Unit Review Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
Also this has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!
413 days since the start of 10th Edition.
This is Review #100, I am 312 reviews behind! Slight gain...
Picking them randomly, let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:
Dark Angels, Land Speeder Vengeance
10th Edition Codex
One of the few remaining Land Speeders in the game, not only did the Land Speeder Vengeance stay in 10th edition, it was included in the 10th Edition Dark Angels Codex Suppliment!
This is a bit different from the ordinary Land Speeders (Which I have plenty of!) as it has two gunners and one pilot.
Like most Dark Angels type stuff it has extra PLASMA weapons!
Also, this one is black @exptrader and @aussieninja because it is part of the Ravenwing! The ones that had zero members fall to chaos or betray the Emperor.
It costs 140pts to field and $79 to buy!
Let's look at those stats!
Stats
Movement 14"
Toughness 8
Save 3+/5++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 10
Ld 6+
OC 3
Weapons
The Land Speeder Vengeance had either a Heavy Bolter or an Assault Cannon; and a Plasma storm battery
Range:
Heavy Bolter
Range 36", 3 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S5, Ap -1, 2 Damage each
Sustained Hits 1 (A 6 on a to Hit roll scores an additional hit!)
Assault Cannon
Range 24", 6 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S6, Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Devastating Wounds(6's to Wound bypass saves and causes Mortal Wounds)
Plasma storm battery - Standard Firing option
Range 36", D6+1 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S8, Ap -2, 1 Damage each
Blast (Gain +1 Attack for every 5 models in enemy unit, rounding down)
Twin-Linked (Re-roll failed to Wound rolls)
Plasma storm battery - Overcharged Firing option
Range 36", D6+1 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S9, Ap -3, 2 Damage each
Blast (Gain +1 Attack for every 5 models in enemy unit, rounding down)
Twin-Linked (Re-roll failed to Wound rolls)
Hazardous (Roll a D6 after using the weapon, on a 1 suffer 3 Mortal Wounds)
Melee:
Close Combat Weapon
4 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S4 Ap 0, 1 Damage each
Abilities
Deadly Demise D3 (When it is destroyed, roll a Dice on a 6, all units within 6" of this unit suffers D3 Mortal Wounds)
Storm of Vengeance
Once per turn, if the Land Speeder Vengeance is within 6" of a friendly unit that is destroyed with a shooting attack, the Land Speeder can shoot back at the unit that shot as though it was your own Shooting Phase.
Thoughts
I would be firing this thing with Overcharged Plasma all the time... probably would go Heavy Bolter to retain 36" range... or go with the Assault Cannon to chew through big heavy things.
S9, Ap-3 D2 twin-linked plus an Assault Cannon is great for putting wounds through to tough units!
I want one!
Or three...
That makes 7 Dark Angels Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 43.75% Completed! The total Completed is 10.40% Complete! Can I review them all?!
Thank you for reading!
