Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!
However, on the 26th one, I have decided that it is big enough to call this series a Library!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!
In this series, I will review one unit at a time, picking them randomly.
So let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:
Leagues of Votann, Ûthar the Destined
10th Edition Index
Ûthar the Destined! The only Epic Hero from the Leagues of Votann army!
The Kin are a race descended from humanity. They are cloners who have been genetically modifying their genes in order for their various generations to better survive in the harsh environments of the Galactic Core!
They are led by the Votann, the Ancestor Cores. Massive lumbering machines that contain the accumulated knowledge of the Leagues since the beginning.
Today these cogitation machines are so steeped in information and wisdom that it requires special breeds of Kin to commune with them and it often takes them a very long time to respond, for they calculate everything from all past events.
Once in a while, they do something amazing. Like PREDICT Ûthar's birth and even high-jacked the forges to make him his sword so when he emerged from the clone vats, the sword was presented to him as his birthright and his Destiny of greatness was foretold!
Let's see how he plays!
Stats
Movement 5"
Toughness 5
Save 3+/4++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 5
Ld 7+
OC 1
Weapons
Ranged:
Volkanite disintegrator
18" Range, 2 shots, Hitting on 2+, S5, AP0, Damage 1
Devastating Wounds
Meaning a roll of 6 to Wound will break through armour and invulnerable saves!
Melee:
Blade of the Ancestors
5 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S6, AP-3 and Damage 2 each
Devastating Wounds
Fair bit of attacks with great accuracy. Decent Strength, amazing AP and good Damage.
Abilities
Ancestral Fortune
Once PER TURN, you can change one To Hit roll or one To Wound roll for this model to a 6. Thus giving you some instant Devastating Wounds! Nice!
Grim Efficiency
Same rule as other Kahls. You can do one of these per Battle Round in your own Command Phase. One unit in your army with Grim Efficiency can use this rule. So You choose one of those Kahls and then choose an enemy unit that they can see, that unit gains a Judgement token.
Judgement tokens are something the whole army uses. When anything from a Votann army attacks an enemy with 1 Judgement token, they get +1 to Hit. If the enemy unit has 2 Judgement tokens, it is +1 to Hit and +1 to Wound rolls!
This rule allows you to pick the targets that you want to deal maximum damage to. Units that leave the battlefield and come back keep the tokens. There is no way to get rid of them!
The Destined
When an attack is allocated to this model, change the Damage Characteristic to 1.
This is insane! This means that no matter how much damage you deal, you need to deal damage to Ûthar 5 times and get through his armor and invul save.
Altogether an awesome unit!
Thank you for reading!
