Its a new season, and a new theme for the ecoTrain question of the week! As many of you know, we like to dig deep and challenge you, inspire you, and help you make your inner and outer world a better place! This Season #6 starts with a very simple question, but one that defines your actions and choices. Its all about PRIORITIES! WE all have them, sometimes they are conscious choices and sometimes they are priorities that are quite natural and take no effort to meet. Some of our priorities are of course universal such as the need to make sure we eat, sleep and stay active.. whereas others are more unique to us and our own desires and needs.
Have you ever written a list of your priorities in life? Its a great process to undertake, and can really help bring some clarity and direction for the decisions we make each day. Sometimes we may have forgotten or let go of certain priorities or needs because they were too hard to meet. Other priorities can take up considerable time or money, but have you ever asked yourself why they are a priority in the first place? This could be about anything, for example, to spend time with friends and socialising drinking regularly, or the need to take time out for yourself each morning to meditate or do yoga.
There is also another aspect to this list. That is another hidden part of each choice we make in life. The other aspect is, What is the Opportunity Cost of your priorities? Do you know? Are there any? Each choice we make will usually have a cost, whether it is the time that you could have spent doing other things, or the financial burden that this priority brings with it.. such as an expensive hobby. If there is a large opportunity cost, perhaps you can share why you feel that its worth it.. dig deeper into understanding what and why your priorities are what they are.
