utside, she walked uneasily and hastily. That presence lingered—the sense of being followed. The faulty, dim streetlights made it worse.
She pulled out her phone to order a Lyft, but there was no network.
“Just great,” she groaned, her fourth attempt failing.

The spirit of the jungle

"Because when you bathe in its waters, you can hear the sound of running water and the sound of birds and monkeys rustling in the afternoon. If I had not recognized you, there would only be silence. Now you have to go into the jungle to be part of it. Tomorrow you will do it, we are going to look for cocoa fruits, we will navigate the Cocuina river, and you will be able to do it.
"I am afraid of the jungle, grandfather, there are many dangers".

I got to where I usually board he vehicle to work, trying to get into the minibus; a sharp edge on the bus tore my clothes. That's how I lashed out at the driver for not fixing his car, and now my clothes are torn. Everybody was asking me to calm down.
Some people offered to pay my fare. I honestly wake up from the wrong side of the bed; if not, why is everything just going south-south that morning.

"I love you and your job. I will support you in whatever way I can to help you rise to the peak of your career. Whatever makes you happy is an obligation for me to do," Mike penned down these lovely lines during my birthday that was marked a few months ago. He had taken me out for an all-expenses-paid trip to Yankari Games Reserve.

The sun came down and Rio felt even more terrified. He looked at the sky and saw a giant bird soaring. Its wings spanned an immeasurable width. When he looked back down, a beetle the size of an elephant was approaching him. Rio’s heart beeped and he ran for his life. He caught his breath beneath a fern. “Where am I ?” Rio asked himself in a tiny sad voice as tears flowed freely down his cheeks. He enveloped himself in the petals of a purple hibiscus and soon, he drifted off.
