This periodic magazine highlights a small selection of short stories posted to The Ink Well community that stood out and were awarded a Curie vote. Thank you to all authors in The Ink Well for sharing your creative work!

A Florist and Cup of Coffee Suicide

Gatot rides his old motorbike and wants to relax for a while at a coffee shop located on the edge of the rice fields to enjoy a cup of coffee and a cigarette. He often stopped by the coffee shop after a day selling flowers at the traditional market. -@radenkusumo666

Trinity stopped talking and reverted back to thinking over all that she had learned this summer, right before Nana's tragic loss. And to think about the fact that the hit and run driver who had fled the scene had never been caught lent an element of rage to her already battered emotions. -@blueeyes8960

Painful Mistake

The club was like nothing she had experienced before; it had this bitter sweet effect on her that filled her with both guilt and euphoria, the speakers boomed with songs she had heard on the radio and the floor seemed to move with the rhythm. Josephine was having a very swell time with some guys she had met in the club, she looked hot in her pepper-red thigh length gown... -@ubani1

Under the sea, life is more sinister in the dark

Brock was a weathered man, with tanned skin from working at sea. He was a hardworking and dedicated fisherman, but that was two years ago. Brock had a broken nose due to many bar fights, something that had become routine in the town of Sal marina, plus his blond hair was carelessly battered. -@ricardo993

The Last Enemy of Our Enemies Is Still Our Friend

If you weren't supposed to understand, all you saw was a woman dressed as a domestic underneath her raincoat, picked up at the bus stop she was waiting at by a man in a raincoat on a bicycle built for two – two poor people, hardly the type to be dealing with billionaire matters in the dark of a rainy night. -@deeanndmathews
