Just as when water falls from the sky and we are outdoors we get wet without any distinction, this saying means that if there is any general circumstance, no one is exempt from experiencing its effects and consequences, since it is something of a higher level that affects to an entire human conglomerate.
A pulpero in Venezuela, is an owner of a small food store, also known as a grocery store or warehouse, which was very common in the past 20th century. In these commercial establishments, one of the merchandise that was always available was cheese; and it wasn't always of quality, it could be very salty, very soft or also without flavor, but always, always, the pulpero would say that it was the best cheese in town or city; so, when this saying is used, it refers to someone who praises himself, who promotes himself by saying that his is the best, or that it is the best, even when this is not true.
When it rains, we usually don't pay attention to that sound, because it is just that: The sound of rain falling on the roof or on the ground; For this reason, when this saying is used, it is to indicate the indifference of another person, to emphasize that we speak to him and he does not pay attention to us, that he does not hear what we are saying.
The act of receiving communion, for practicing Catholics, implies the consumption of the host. The host is a small, thin disk or wafer, made from wheat flour, which is consecrated on the altars of Catholic churches. For their part, the cassava cakes are discs of much greater diameter and thickness, with a very different texture, made from grated cassava; therefore, they are absolutely different things. When they say take the communion whith casabe (cassava cakes), it means that they try to make us take it for granted, something absolutely false.
A wasp is comparatively a much smaller insect than a bumblebee; therefore, when this proverb is used, it is used as a warning to another person, to be careful and not make the mistake of thinking that one is a weak opponent, but quite the opposite.
