Beer Tasting: Dragon Slayer Hazy IPA & Zlatý Bažant Hurbanovská IPA

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

This heat just won't and won't stop. Weather forecasters have already predicted it won't be so hot this week. But they were probably thinking about the next one.
There is no help but a siesta until dusk and then some activities. And plenty of cold liquids. Mainly water, if anyone has thought of anything else :)

Onions and beer are an odd combination, but in the photo above, you can see our onion crop for this year. I've stored them in a crate, and the two cans of beer are a little reward for all the hard work.
The onions are now stored in the cellar, and the beer is for the 373rd #beersaturday. There's one Slovenian and one Slovakian can. I'll have them now that it's dusk.

First of all, the one with less alcohol.

Green Gold Dragon Slayer Session Hazy IPA

Brewed by Green Gold Brewing, Šempeter v Savinjski dolini, Slovenia.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.0% ABV, IBU 35
It's a Hazy IPA or New England India Pale Ale (NEIPA) style beer, with intense fruit flavors and aromas, smooth mouthfeel, and less bitterness than traditional IPAs.

What do the Master Brewers say?

The beer is named after the huge amount of Styrian Dragon hops in the beer. The very cloudy peach color reminds us of peach juice. The aroma of mandarin orange and orange goes perfectly with the light body and low carbonation. Although low in alcohol and calories, it retains plenty of flavor and aromas. The citrus flavour will help you kill that dragon thirst that has been haunting you all week. This light-weight category allows you to drink carefree all summer long. "One more and it's light" all day long.

🍺

Green Gold Brewing is one of the best Slovenian craft breweries. Everything I have tried so far has been very good.

The beer is cloudy yellow, with a considerable and persistent head. It smells of tropical fruits and hops. A sip goes smoothly down the throat, and on the palate, I taste first the distinct bitterness of the hops, followed by the tropical fruit flavors. Grapefruit, orange, citruses, and peach dominate.
In the aftertaste, everything slowly disappears except the bitterness.

It is a very drinkable and juicy beer, perfect for the summer heat. Its lower alcohol content allows you to enjoy it more.
It's available in most local shops and has been on my fridge for quite some time.

Today, I found a beer meme that was new to me. 😀

Let's move forward!

Zlatý Bažant Špeciál Hurbanovská IPA

Brewed by Zlatý Bažant (Heineken Slovensko), Hurbanovo, Slovakia.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.1% ABV, IBU 36.
It's a Session IPA or India Session Ale (ISA) style beer with a hop-dominant profile. It's lower in alcohol than American IPA but brewed with modern American hops.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Zlatý Bažant Speciál Hurbanovská IPA is a top-fermented, unfiltered, and dry-hopped beer with an excellent profile. It is light in color with yellow and golden tones. Hurbanovská IPA has a thick, creamy, long-lasting head, which is a sign of a well-brewed and well-balanced beer. The aroma is straightforward, and from the first breath, you know you are in for a refreshing - fruity, citrusy, tropical IPA with the familiar Citra and Kazbek hop notes. A light to medium-bodied body with perfect IPA bitterness and a dry finish makes this beer highly addictive. It is a very good, balanced session IPA-style beer that is easy to drink and destined for success.

🍺

I am not familiar with this brewery.

The beer is a cloudy orange with an average head that disappears quickly. It doesn't have a strong smell. It goes down the throat smoothly, with a distinct hop bitterness at first, followed by mild herbal and slight citrus flavors in the mouth.
The aggressive bitterness lingers in the aftertaste while everything else disappears.

The beer is drinkable and refreshing, not least because it is cold. However, a very pronounced bitterness is not easily eliminated, even in the aftertaste. It's more like a bitter lager to me. If it hadn't said on the can that it was an IPA, I probably wouldn't have known. I got it from a friend in Slovakia, and it's unavailable locally.
Anyway, nothing special, something average, no excesses.

And what am I listening to as I write this and taste the beer?
Something from yesterday's #newtunes post. My favorite band, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, released a new album two weeks ago.
