Hello, beer lovers! π»
What's happening to you? Here we have fallen into almost tropical heat, which is unusual for this time of spring. But it will not last long. Forecasters are predicting rain, cold, and snow at 800 meters and above for the next week. Well, I'm at 421 m so I guess I won't panic :)
I've been out all day and finally finished one activity that has occupied me for about a month. I'm sure I deserve a beer or two for 354 #beersaturday.
There were two bottles in the fridge, one Austrian Pilsner and one Slovenian IPA, which I'll be happy to taste and present here.
Woif Goidkinig Pilsener
Brewed by Woif Biersieder, Seekirchen, Austria.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 4.5% ABV, 18 IBU.
It's pilsener-style beer, is a light-bodied German beer with a floral hop aroma.
What do the Master Brewers say?
This Pilsner, from the 19th century, has been almost completely extinct since its creation. So it was with mischievous delight that the Woif resurrected this pilsner beer. It's based on Viennese malt. And what would Austria be without its influences from that era? Right, and so other raw materials from the former Habsburg monarchy were added (Bohemian/Czech malt and hops from the Styrian/Slovenian regions).

Austrian pilsner with Slovenian hops and Czech malt? That must be tried once, too.
The beer is light yellow and clear, with little head. It has no smell. It goes down the throat smoothly, and the bitterness of the hops and a slightly less pronounced malty sweetness develop in the mouth. It tastes of cereals, slightly of lemons and flowers.
In the aftertaste, it all disappears quickly.
Drinkable and fresh. If someone offers it to you, you drink it and that's that. A classic pils, nothing special worth mentioning.
It won't be in my fridge for at least two reasons: It isn't available locally (I got it at Kalea Beer Box) and didn't impress me much.
I'll just mention this - after four weeks I finally finished painting the fence... π΅βπ«
If I had known at the beginning a month ago that it would take so long I would have tried to find another solution...
Let's move on, the IPA is waiting!
Crazy Duck 1 Hour IPA
Brewed by Crazy Duck Brewery, Ε½iri, Slovenia.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.8% ABV, IBU N/A.
It's IPA-style beer, hop-forward and bitter with some fruit aromas.
What do the Master Brewers say?
The 60-minute India Pale Ale, dark amber in color, is a heavily hopped beer with a stronger alcohol level. It differs from a classic IPA in that hops are added consistently for 60 minutes, which makes it unique. It is very aromatic in taste, with flavors of floral, grapefruit, orange, and lychee predominating. There is also the bitterness of pine and a wide variety of flavors. You will experience a long-lasting aftertaste. Discover it by yourself!

This is the first I have heard of this procedure. Probably @zekepickleman would know more about it.
The beer is light brown, the head is average. It smells fruity. A sip goes down the throat smoothly, and the bitterness of the hops, citrus, and herbal notes immediately takes over in the mouth.
In the aftertaste, everything lingers for a while, especially the bitterness which refuses to go away.
A tasty and drinkable beer. With its pronounced bitterness and still quite high alcohol content, it was a real pick-me-up. That alone will make me remember this Crazy Duck.
If I compare it with the previous one, which is somewhere in the average range, this is just as distinctive and easy to remember. Since it is locally available, it will probably end up in my fridge for a sample or two.
And what am I listening to as I write this and taste the beer? Something from my yesterday #newtunes post. Dis Fig & The Body, new to me.
