Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
Today will not be a classic beer tasting like you expect from me on #beersaturday, but it will be a little different.
Dune: Sand Planet Part 2 was released in the cinemas and I had to take my son (because there is no cinema here) to the Cineplex in Koper where this film was playing.
I didn't go to the cinema because I don't think this remake is that good (I swear by David Lynch's Dune), and, even though it was raining, I wandered around Koper looking for what? You'll never guess, haha, a place with good beer.
And I found it. In the old part of town, there is one small pub with a pretty good selection of craft beers. I had two hours and tried two beers there.
Amager Pink Farts & Unicorns IPL
Brewed by Amager Bryghus, Kastrup, Denmark.
can, o.44 l, alcohol 4.6%, IBU 14.
It's an India Pale Lager style (IPL), a hoppy lager with pilsner malt and modern American hops.

For centuries scientists have discussed the odd but in many ways relevant question: do the farts of unicorns smell? And if so, what do they smell of? Many scholars have claimed that the unicorn, is only a fable and not a real animal, but the whole crew here at Amager Bryghus are a bunch of old time romantics and true believers. Well, we’re not gonna tell you exactly how we did it, but with the dry-hopping in Pink Farts & Unicorns we have recreated that exact aroma of a unicorn fart. Think delicious tropicana, think moist citrus, think… the smell of your most luscious dreams. And if you close your eyes too, you can even see the color. It’s true, it’s pink. This beer is for all ladies and dudes who choose to believe that fairytales actually exist. Just sniff…
Haha, that made me laugh, I hope it's a good one.
The beer is cloudy yellow, there is a little head and it smells of hops (unicorn fart?). The sip went down the throat smoothly, with hop bitterness and citrus on the palate.
The tropical aromas disappear in the aftertaste, medium bitterness remains for a while.
Refreshing and drinkable. Hoppy lager, I've tried a few, and this was good too. But if it's the smell of unicorn farts I wouldn't debate :)
This pub is called the Ghetto and I liked it quite a lot. They have ten beers on tap and about twenty different cans. Pretty good for Koper, we don't have anything like that here.
Reservoir Dogs Hazy Sister NEIPA
Brewed by Reservoir Dogs, Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
Draft, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.0%, IBU N/A.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Guess what! Hazy Sister is a juicy, fruity, extremely fragrant NEIPA with a mild haze. Extremely drinkable!
I don't have any special pictures because it's a draft, but what they wrote is all true!
The beer is a cloudy orange color, there is little head and it smells very much of hops and tropical fruits. It went down the throat smoothly and in the mouth there was an explosion of different flavours. First the bitterness of hops, citrus, mango, and pineapple, even the sweetness of caramel in the background. In the aftertaste, everything slowly disappears except the hop bitterness.
A very juicy, fruity, and tasty beer! I don't think I've ever tried a better NEIPA beer and one is bound to go in my fridge because it's available directly from the online shop.
Well, then it was time to walk back to the Cineplex, pick up the youngsters, and drive back home.
