Beer Tasting: Camba WinterZauber & La Cervoise des Ancêtres

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

It's Saturday night again, the weekend, and as usual, everyone in the family has their vision of how to spend it. Of course, I also made time for my favorite activity of the week which is, you won't believe it #beersaturday! :) 😀

It's been going on for 343 weeks, the oldest contest in the Hive social blockchain network (if anyone knows of an older one, please correct me) and it's not going to end yet.
With all this dynamic action in the crypto world and Hive, even if it's just for fun, beer is needed to calm the nerves and keep a positive outlook.

I have two interesting samples chilling in my fridge today, one German bottle and one Belgian bottle. Again, it will be an interesting experience of flavors and aromas.

First, the one with less alcohol.

🍻 😎 🍻

Camba WinterZauber Märzen

Brewed by Camba Bavaria, Seeon-Seebruck, Bavaria, Germany.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 6.0% ABV, IBU 17.
It's Märzen style, seasonal, orange or amber-colored malty German lager, with toasty and bready malt flavor and restrained bitterness.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Our Camba Winterzauber is one of our seasonally limited beers. The smell of caramelized sugar and fresh hazelnuts fits perfectly into the dark season and the warming honey and soft nutty notes sweeten the cold winter nights. Only while stocks last.

Seasonal beer is not available in shops. It seems I was lucky, I got it from Kalea Beer Box.

The beer is amber in color, the head is solid and it lasts. It has no particular smell. It goes down the throat smoothly and develops a slight sweetness and flavors of bread, caramel, and sponge cake.
In the aftertaste, everything disappears and a slight hop bitterness emerges, which does not last long.

A drinkable and tasty beer, very balanced, I would say almost elegant or upmarket, I don't know how to express it.
A very good, in fact excellent, seasonal Bavarian beer that I could easily drink all evening if I had the chance. A real jackpot!

Unfortunately, the quantity is limited and each season is different. It doesn't have to be the same next year. In any case, congratulations to the brewers for a great product.

It was very sunny today, we were outside all afternoon, but I took the day off, I didn't take any photos, so now a meme, actually an infographic.

Maybe some of this applies to you, or maybe not :)

La Cervoise des Ancêtres Biere Blonde Triple

Brewed by Brouwerij Roman, Oudenaarde, East Flanders, Belgium.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 9.0% ABV, IBU N/A.
The beer is Tripel style, spicy, aromatic, and strong Belgian Ale.

What do the Master Brewers say?

The beer of the ancestors, a beer of sharing and adventure. Lightly bitter and fresh on the palate, this delicious beverage, rediscovered by our master brewer, comes to us from the mists of time. Long ago, valiant warriors returning home celebrated their victories with a generous glass of beer. Comforting after a storm, a drink for the brave, this triple blonde, with its strong character, reveals the clan leader in all of us. On the palate, you'll find hops, yeast, and malt, as well as spices, coriander, and banana. Cervoise is for sharing!

This is the first time I've tried a beer from this brewery, supposedly the oldest family-run brewery in Belgium, documented since 1545. I bought it in the Leclerc shopping center in Ljubljana.

It has a cloudy yellow color and a lot of foam, but it does not last long. It smells of spices. The heart goes down the throat smoothly, the taste is still quite spicy, and there is a discreet sweet maltiness, notes of citrus, and a pronounced coriander aroma overall.
The coriander lingers in the aftertaste, slowly fading away, and the hop bitterness lingers for a while at the end.

It's an interesting beer, drinkable of course, but I wouldn't say it's refreshing. I find this distinct aroma of coriander, which is predominant, unusual. I mean, it's not that disturbing, but I'm not used to that. The alcohol content is quite high, but you don't feel it when you taste the beer, that's probably why it's covered with coriander, but it comes to you later. I really couldn't drink this all evening. I'm already a bit tired after this little beer :) 😵‍💫

But I would have kept it in the fridge as a sample of Belgian beer to offer to friends.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to as I write this and taste beers? For unforeseen reasons I didn't post the weekly #newtunes post and now I'm listening to something else, the latest Black Keys video on YT, four days old.
