Hello and welcome to the The Ink Well weekly fiction prompt. The Ink Well is a Hive blockchain-based social media community of creative writers. If you love to write short stories, we invite you to join us. Or peruse the work of our community members.

This Week’s Prompt

The prompt for this week is Winding road.

Like many of our prompts, this one is wide open to interpretation!

When you think of a winding road, what comes to mind? Do you picture a lonesome traveler, unable to find a place to stay for the night? A honeymoon that was supposed to be so romantic, but instead ended up with the bride sick on the side of the road? Or perhaps a winding road as a metaphor for the twisting and non-linear path of someone's life?

Tell us a story about a difficult path, a circuitous route, or a wayward journey that was anything but predictable.

Where will your imagination take you?

Note: As always, please avoid gory, bloody, brutal, sexist or racist themes and language, NSFW (not safe for work) themes, and stories featuring abuse of women, children or animals.
