I hope the week has been amazing! I have been so busy with this massive herbal remedy book. I am so ready to be done with it.

Vitex clapped her hands, far happier with the situation than she should have been. Adiran sighed heavily before directing Adrian and Magna to hold hands. He then instructed Mortis to place a hand on Magna’s shoulder. Finally, he bodily moved Vitex until she stood behind Derric.
“You will need to squat. Hold one hand on Derric and another on Leo.” He instructed.
He then turned to Derric.
“Place a hand on Millmor and with your second hand grip the bound hands of the twins.”
Everyone did as instructed by the mage.
“Will I be of any help?” asked Lucien sarcastically.
“Yes. I need you to occupy the twins’ uncle and aunt long enough for me to do this. It’s going to get loud and those who are mortal will suffer pain.” As he said this, he looked up at the twins, hoping that they would remove themselves from the situation.
They didn’t, they only gripped each other’s hands more firmly. Adiran sighed and started muttering several protective spells. Not all his mana had been returned to him, but there were two gods and two vessels, it should be enough.
Next, he used his magic to etch the spell around those within the chain. Now and again he would reposition someone but instructed them to not release those they were to hold onto. He would finish the spells required with a deep sigh. He looked up at Lucien and said, “After this, you’re free. You never have to see me again.”
Lucien seemed both relieved and hurt but nodded his head, “You assume I’ll be that easy to get rid of.”
Adiran smiled and indicated that the LifeDrinker best go do his task. Once he was sure Lucien was far away enough, he started muttering words he had read as a young man, in a world far from this one.
This magic felt different. It didn’t hurt, this was beyond hurt and he was forced to concentrate on the words he spoke. Black tendrils wrapped around those within the spell, and he saw how Derric, Magna, and Adrian almost immediately buckled under the power. Yet, they stubbornly persisted, clenching their teeth and squeezing eyes closed.
Adiran didn’t know where he had gone wrong with his plan. He had wanted to protect his younger self and sister. Yet the more he tried to keep them safe, the more trouble he brought to them. As the words fell from his mouth, he made his mind up that he was done interfering with their lives.
Yet, he knew that was a lie he was telling himself.
As the spell was reaching its peak, Leo thrashed and roared. Vitex almost lost her grip on him. Adiran couldn’t help her, if he stopped the spell now, they would all cease to exist. There were a few more words he needed to say, he just needed the goddess to hold on a little longer.
In a fluid motion, Mortis turned and placed an armoured foot on Leo, ensuring that a god had a hold on him. It was all that could be done in this situation.
With a clap of what sounded like thunder, the spell disintegrated, leaving Adiran confused. All the magic that was surrounding the area was just gone and the next thing he knew, he had sunk to his knees in exhaustion. Had he made a mistake? He was terrified to look up and eventually, he did. All those who were part of the spell looked around in confusion and eventually Adrian asked.
“Was that it?”
Vitex got to her feet shakily while Mortis all but collapsed. If he could pant, he would. He felt exhausted and Bellum was silent. Vitex had a smile on her face.
“Finally, a following! I will have a following, and you will be my first!”
She effortlessly raised Millmor in his ghoul king form to his feet. Millmor looked exhausted and could barely get his feet under him. His bestial fury was gone, and he felt guilt and emptiness once more. He couldn’t even look at Derric when the boy approached him.
“I…don’t know what to say to you.” He admitted.
“There is time now.” Said Derric as he hugged the creature to him.
Vitex grinned. It had worked. Yet, as she turned, Leo was ripping his armour from himself. It no longer fit him. It was as if he had grown twice in size. Magna turned and found that he now had mismatched eyes and his teeth weren’t quite that of a human. Leo seemed to realise this and touched his mouth before running his hands over his body looking for injuries.
“The eyes will be the most noticeable.” Said Mortis as he helped the man to his feet. “But I am sure a glamour spell can fix that.”
