From Soil, to Sir, With Love!

gardeny things are getting serious, now.

I am rapidly coming to the point where there is too much, being picked, daily. Today,
• a couple of zucchini,
• 5 sweet banana pepper,
• 1 teeny tiny carrot (for me to snack on while cooking snack),
• 1 Purple Pepper,
• 4 Black Tula/Black Sea Man tomato,
• 4 San Marzano plum tomato,
• 10 beefsteak tomato
• a really solid handful of sweetie 100 Cherry Tomato
• a couple dozen White Cherry Tomato

Below I have about a dozen Sweet Bell Pepper plants, about to pop the fruit. Here's one example of Sweet Bell Pepper growing in my garden. While these are green, the variety planted is actually a Yellow. (I have red, yellow, and orange sweet bell pepper planted).

Below The San Marzano Plum Tomato, growing a bunch. I have 4 or 5 plants, and they are a determinate variety. Meaning, they grow a set height, and fruit all at once, as opposed to over the course of months. One reason why San Marzano is the tomato of choice for making a sauce? Tons of very sweet tasting fruit at once. Perfect for boiling and making into sauces.

Above I have three Straight 8 Cucumber planted. Each vine is growing about 6 or 8 feet, and a lot of fruit coming in soon.

Below I feel the intense pressure of onlookers, silently judging me and my garden.

Above After rinsing, I sliced a Black Tula, or Black Sea Man tomato ( still no idea which is which... my labels were sharpie, and the sun beat them into submission.) The sliced Black Tula tomato, about a cm thick, or, for your normal people, 1/2 inch thick. It's a little bigger than palm sized around.

Below Some sliced Fresh Italian bread, on the Pannini Press, a few slices of some Sharp Cheddar Cheese, oh, yeah, and sweet tomato slices, onto the press, and let it all get melty.

I feel bad for all the Gluten Free folks... this bread was amazing, that yummy goey texture, and the melted cheese, and super sweet giant tomato was just right!

Fresh grown ingredients, home made meals, and family!
