One of my family's FAVORITE Appetizers, Caprése Salad. It's Fresh sliced Tomato, chopped fresh basil, and fresh, sliced Mozzarella cheese, drizzled with Balsamic Vinegar and a good quality extra Virgin, Olive Oil!
Below I sliced a bunch of the tomato, from Today's Harvest.
Next, I went outside, and snipped some fresh Sweet Basil, and some Dark opal Basil, and gave that a rough chop.
Below I sliced up some fresh soft, Mozzarella Cheese, and added that on top. One thing to really help with colour presentation is to intertwine, and overlap, the different ingredients. Presentation matters.
Finally, drizzle a healthy amount of Balsamic Vinegar and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. My family LOVES it, so, I added a LOT.

Below For dinner, I pan seared some Peppers and Onions.
Above The Purple Pepper, sliced with some Orange Sweet pepper, and sliced some Red Onion from my garden. The sweet Purple Pepper much thinner wall.
Below Into the pan with some Olive Oil, (and some garlic powder if you like)!
Above Don't forget, the star attraction of the meal! Some Sweet Italian Sausage on the Grille!
I was busy, last Thursday at dinner and so, it was takeout food. Friday night, I was setting up my Craft Fair, or working the booth, so no cooking then, or Saturday and Sunday, either. Tonight, I made diner for my girls, and one of them said "WOW! It's SOOOOO GOOD to have Daddy home!"
