Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - A Surprise In The Gladius Pack

Time flies! Just completed the 50th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 5 battles this time and it was not an easy round. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

We Got 3rd!

So for the final result, we got 3rd out of 10 guilds and got 754 Merits and around 13 SPS! No more champions but it's still a podium finish, so that's still good!

Individually, I had 5 fights this time and my bad run continued. Finished last in the guild this time.

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

Such a battle modifier called for a Full Magic lineup but my team just came out slightly short against a slightly stronger Magic lineup on the opposing end. The difference in levels made the difference in this one.

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver

These days, I struggled alot with Cripple battles as I still wasn't sure what's the best strategy to take advantage of this battle modifier. I opted for the bulkiest card, Relenor Cleaver, hoping to get enough Bloodlust but unfortunately, it didn't happen. I don't usually lose my Water fights so that's disappointing for me.

Battle 3 - WIN

Opponent fled. That's one free win!

Battle 4 - WIN

Opponent fled. That's another free win!

Battle 5 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

My lineup was as good as it could get, even with a strong Sea Monster and a Bloodlust-ed Isgald Vorst, there was absolutely no way to beat a Quora Towershead with Last Stand. Nothing really I could do in this one.

MVP: None

So that sums up my 5 battles for this brawl! A 40% win rate only, not particularly good considering but my wins were only because my opponents fled.

Review Of Gladius Cards

The Merits are coming in fast and I have enough Merits for my 24th Gladius case! When I was at my 4th card, my mind was like - sigh, this is going to be the minimum 1 Rare 4 Commons pack. And then I clicked the last card, no surprise, it's a Rare... And then it turned into Gold! Yay! :)
