Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - We Got 1st AGAIN!

image.png

Time flies! Just completed the 15th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me. This time, there were very little battles to go around and I only had 4. Fortunately, I didn't do too badly and still managed to clock a pass.

  • We Got 1st!!!

So for the final result, we finished 1st out of 10 guilds and got a yummy 969 Merits! That's the 2nd time that we got 1st and it is a testament that our guild is growing from strength to strength!

Individually, I had 4 fights this time and I managed 2 wins! Despite a 50% win rate, I was ranked almost near the bottom of the guild. That shows how well the rest of the guild members did!

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Isgard Vorst

I didn't have any advantage going with Brighton Bloom this time as the opponent smartly went with the same. I went for an almost all Melee lineup because Djinn Chwala/Carnage Titan was a strong combination for Dragon battles but was outfought in this one. Deeplurker unfortunately interfered with my Gladius card as both of them had Opportunity and Bloodlust didn't go off as well.

MVP: None

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

It started well when Diemonshark got Enraged but my backline had trouble dealing with an Enraged Djinn Oshannus and eventually the misses stacked up and I ran out of cards first.

MVP: None

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

I took a gamble and went with Yodin Zaku for an Earthquake battle and hoped that Gargoya Devil (flying) and Lava Launcher (lots of armor to spare) would outlast my opponent. Faced with higher levelled cards, my team easily dispatched them. No doubts which card deserved the MVP in this one.

MVP: Yodin Zaku

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Chimney Wallstop

Once again, I took a gamble by putting out 2 big cards and was faced a full team of 6 cards. Chimney Wallstop at 1 speed looked too irresistible to pick for this one and I was hoping for Bloodlust. And it came thrice! Easy win for this battle.

MVP: Chimney Wallstop

So that sums up my 4 battles for this brawl! Hoping for some free wins soon! Hehe!

Review Of Gladius Cards

Since I am able to use Gladius cards now, I thought I should review selected cards that helped me win in the brawls. This week's feature is none other than Chimney Wallstop! Of course, please let me know if you have any tips in using these cards too as I am keen to learn and improve too!

CARD: CHIMNEY WALLSTOP
ELEMENT: FIRE
RARITY: COMMON
ABILITY: BLOODLUST, REACH

Coming in at 10 mana, he packs a strong attack and very tanky stats. The only downside is its speed and I would only consider him during a Reverse Speed battle. Otherwise, it's a waste of 5 Melee damage and 10 mana quota for him to keep missing high speed card.
