I’d like to share my training session at the stadium with you. I decided to do a fartlek workout consisting of 2 minutes of fast running followed by 1 minute of slow running. I started with a 2-kilometer warm-up, jogging gently and focusing on getting my body ready. Then I began the 4-kilometer fartlek, alternating between bursts of speed and easy recovery periods.
I really like this type of training because it improves speed, endurance, and the ability to regain my rhythm after an intense effort. Plus, it lets me train dynamically, without feeling like everything becomes monotonous. Each repetition was a small challenge: during the two-minute fast intervals, I pushed myself, maintained good form, and controlled my breathing; during the one-minute slow intervals, I took the opportunity to recover and prepare for the next change.
Not all the repetitions went exactly as I wanted, but that’s also part of the process. The important thing was to stay focused, listen to my body, and finish the workout feeling good. The stadium helps a lot because it provides a controlled environment where I can focus on my pace and form.
I finished a little exhausted, but satisfied with the work I’d done. These workouts remind me that improving doesn’t always mean running more kilometers, but rather learning to run better. So let’s go all out for the 2027 CAF Marathon🙏💪🔥🏃.
