Yesterday’s workout was challenging and a bit different: 200-meter hill speed intervals, with a 200-meter recovery jog at an easy pace, for 12 repetitions.
I started with a 14-minute warm-up jog to properly prepare my body and activate my legs before tackling the main workout. As soon as I began the first set, I felt the effort right away. The incline and the speed made it a pretty demanding workout, but also very motivating.
Little by little, I found my rhythm and adapted to the challenge. With each repetition, I felt more comfortable, managing to improve my times and control my breathing better. It wasn’t easy, but that feeling of completing one more set always pushed me to keep going.
After completing each 200-meter effort, I’d jog back at a gentle pace for another 200 meters. That recovery period allowed me to lower my heart rate, catch my breath, and mentally prepare for the next repetition. That’s how I completed all 12 sets, one by one, without giving up.
Hills have something special about them: they force you to work on strength, technique, and concentration. You feel every meter, but it also brings great satisfaction when you finish. I’m really happy to have completed the workout and to have stayed consistent until the very end.
Another day of effort, learning, and progress. I’m moving forward with great strength and confidence toward the CAF Marathon 2027.
