Welcome to my #WednesdayWalk hosted by @tattoodjay. Best wishes to him and the missus. This week I wanted to share a walk near Stowe, Vermont. Ok this farm is on the drive up but it was worth pulling over for a quick pic.
There was a banner over the main road into town. We missed the craft fair but caught the fall foliage 馃榿
Here is the lovely main drag of Stowe, Vermont. We started our walk with a quick stroll around downtown.
The Akeley Soldiers Memorial builiding circa 1902 currently serves as the town hall. Town Hall info
Stowe community church is at the end of main street.
Fun sign 馃ぃ check out the ski squirrel
We arrived late morning so decided to walk around town then have lunch before our hike. This is the view from lunch spot.
Cute covered walkway on bridge leading out of town.
We drove out of town past ski lodges to a trail in Smuggler's Notch. And the continuation of our walk.
Great views and colors. You can see the Notch in the mountains in the distance. Smuggler's Notch separates Mount Mansfield, the highest peak of the Green Mountains, from Spruce Peak.
Another view of the Notch.
The trail was a raised board walk for the beginning. The valley closed as we got farther in and there were rock cliffs on either side.
The trail was well marked and included some educational signs along the way.
My favorite spot on the hike 馃槏
Happy #wednesdaywalk everyone. Have a great week!
