Hi bloggers and food lovers! How are you today?. Today, still using oats as the base ingredient, I’m making a sweet snack we called bolen. Bolen is our favorite baked bread pastry. Usually, this dish is made with puff pastry filled with banana, chocolate, or cheese, but this time I’m using instant oats as an alternative to puff pastry. Okay, let’s get started
Ingredients:
100 grams instant oats
a pinch of salt
2 tbsp granulated sugar
150 ml water
dark chocolate
cheese
chocolate chips
egg yolk
Steps:
Blend the oats in a blender until they become oat flour
Place the oat flour in a pan
Add salt and sugar
Then add water
Stir until the mixture thickens
Turn on the heat and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the dough thickens and looks like this
Let the dough cool
Prepare a floured surface to prevent sticking, then take about 15 grams of the mixture
Flatten it on the surface until it’s elongated like this
Place chocolate on top, then roll it up and shape it into a square like this
Place it on a baking tray
Brush the top with egg yolk
Sprinkle grated cheese on top
Repeat the process until all the dough is used up, using toppings like cheese and chocolate, or cheese and sprinkles
Place on a baking sheet and brush with egg yolk
Bake in the oven at 170°C for 30 minutes
Remove from the oven and let cool
The choco oat bolen are ready to eat
