This band is not very well known outside of Belgium, despite having performed in big stages such as Wacken Open Air, Graspop Metal Meeting, Masters at Rock and 70000 Tons of Metal.

With Iris Goessens as the vocalist, the band is truly a blast. She is capable of singing melodic parts with clean vocals and switch to screams and growls very fast, which allows them to explore changes of pace in their music that fit really well among the genre of Metalcore... Thus, Spoil Engine are another band which can do with a single vocalist what many bands need two vocalists to achieve.

Steven 'Gaze' Sanders on the guitar is capable of delivering excellent and fast paced riffs, while Dave De Loco and Matthijs Quaars keep up the beat on the bass and drums, respectively.

They have produced 5 full albums altogether, without many formation changes in the band.

The song Disconnect is one of their best tracks and the lyrics are powerful, with a strong message about the problems of modern times and how people are so disconnected and brainwashed by social networks and mass media.

2) Straight Line Stitch

Now let's travel across the ocean to check out a band with some similarities in their sound.

This band also includes a strong female singer, Alexis Brown, who can perform both clean vocals and harsh vocals as well. This band, however, is not as cohese as Spoil Engine, which we can tell by the numerous formation changes in their elements over the years...

Even though they have delivered one less full albums than Spoil Engine, 4, they had around 25 changes in their formation so far... mostly in the guitars and drums. 🤔

I wish they would get their act together because they are capable of great things, when they are in tune with each other, as the song Black Veil shows:
