Welcome back to the QOTW where each week we ask you what YOU think about important and often challenging issues! Season 8 is all about ACTION, and this week we ask you a very interesting question... What is the best kind of action!? As I'm sure you all know, there are many things that need urgent action in this world, pretty much from A-Z. We could be talking the environment, poverty, freedom, covid, family, child abuse, religious conflict, education, food and water, government, mental health, nuclear weapons and war, bush fires, health, and much more! There are unlimited ways to take action, although most of us are focused on similar ways such as petitions, public speaking, voting, demonstrating, revolution, blogging, vlogging, interviews, writing letters, and of course taking direct action yourself.

It is hard to say what the best way is to bring on change. Each of us has our own way of dealing with things and expressing how we feel. Some are more effective than others, and when this question asks us what is the BEST way, i mean the way that is most likely to bring on the kind of changes that we wish to see. It is my opinion, for example, that petitions are one of the most ineffective and pointless ways to take action. I'm not sure of anything significant that changed as a result of petitions. They seem to be a way for people to vent, and potentially feel like they have tried to do something, but usually petitions fall on deaf ears. The same could be said for writing letters (in my opinion), because most letters that are written never even reach the person that they were intended to reach. They are usually responded to with standard replies and only seen by some low grade employee who's sole job is to simply placate the person writing, without any desire to actually do anything about the issue.

So this week I invite to you to share what you think is the best kind of action to take. You may speak generally, or you may focus on a specific issue and what the best kind of action is for that issue. Perhaps you have taken action yourself about an issue that you feel is important. If you have please share that with us and tell us how that went, and if you managed to bring on any kind of change!
