It's unusual for me to do a musical foray on very new music, but this one burst into my awareness quite quickly - almost as quickly as it hit the Number 1 spot on Billboard. (This song was only released in May.)
BTS is a Korean boy group that has been around since 2010. "Butter" is their third number one.
As usual, I begin with the original.

I think the main thing that makes this song a hit is that it's quirky and fun. The song itself is catchy even if not all the lyrics make sense. There's not a huge amount of originality in the video, but it makes use of their second main attribute - their appearance. I can see them being very popular with the teen and pre-teen girl crowd! Their vocal ability means that the parents can also tolerate it.

Vocally, these guys are probably better than the original. Of course, they're dealing with very different voices - and did an excellent job of it.
Their video is simple, but definitely in the style of BTS, with plenty of extras to make it visually appealing.

This is really cool - using Minecraft noteblocks to create a program playing this song - and very well done. If you like Minecraft or midi music, give it a listen.
Butter in 16 languages presented by Travys Kim
Nothing special for the video, but his voice is great and someone really put some work into making it multilingual. I will have to check out more of his videos another time.

This one took a lot of work and was a lot of fun, putting together clips by several different celebrities in order to make the song. I think it's well done.
Squishy by Ketchupgirl
For such a new song, it's not surprising that there's not many parodies yet. This one was the best of what I could find. Vocals are not quite there, but the lyrics and video effort make up for that. It's pretty well done, really.

These lovely young ladies were a great surprise. Their vocal quality is excellent, their choreography wholesome and appealing. Not many special effects, but what they use is done effectively. I thought they were cute - and completely worth a listen. I've subscribed.
