Welcome to my #wednesdaywalk a weekly event hosted by @tattoodjay. This week I took the time to snap a few shots while wandering around Middlebury, Vermont. This is the Congregational Church located on the top of a hill at the end of Main Street. Construction on this church began in 1806.
There are lots of churches in Middlebury. This is the Memorial Baptist Church built in 1906.
The Memorial Baptist Church repaced the original baptist church built in 1880. It is still standing, right around the corner and is now the Grace Baptist Church.
The red brick building between the two baptist churches is the Town Hall Theatre.
I assumed it was also originally a church but it was purpose built as a theatre opening in 1884.
This photo and more historical info can be found here. https://townhalltheater.org/about/history/
There is a fountain in the center of town.
St Stephens Episcopal Church was completed in 1827.
Not every building in Middlebury is a church although I didn't get pictures of all of the churches 馃榿 The Bank of Middlebury building was built in 1915.
I parked near the Town Hall Theatre. On my way back, I took a few shots of the Civil War Veterans Memorial Monument. It was erected in 1905.
There are some great details on this memorial. The soldiers are still standing guard.
Thanks for checking out my #wednesdaywalk. Have a great day!
