I just finished a 3.623km running that lasted about 0hh:21mm:4ss !
Today I completed my first ever full week of running every day. I did not really plan ahead for this. I quite often run both days on a weekend, but decided to keep it going from Monday. I was interested to see if my legs would recover enough to keep it up. I know plenty of people run every day, but I think you have to work up to it.
It has gone pretty well, but that may be thanks to not going all out every time. Some runs take more out of you than others. I have been running for about eight years now and have built up some endurance, but I have my limits. Of course I have logged all my runs on @exhaust so I can post them on Hive. I record them on my Garmin Forerunner 235 watch. Strava picks those up and Exhaust syncs to that.
- Saturday: Not parkrun was 7.171km including my 5km time trial.
- Sunday: Long run of 13.009km.
- Monday: Short recovery run of 3.182km.
- Tuesday: 800m intervals over 7.163km.
- Wednesday: Taking it easy over 4.424km.
- Thursday: 6.584km of fartlek.
- Friday: Finishing off the week with 3.623km.
That is a total of just over 45km, which I am sure is my biggest weekly total to date. It is getting really windy today and I wanted to get out before it got too bad. The wind did not slow me down too much, but I was not going to go far anyway.
I have not really suffered from aches and pains over the week. A couple of years back I used to be limping around the day after a long run, but that just does not happen now, even with a half marathon distance.
I do not plan to run tomorrow and may cycle on Sunday. Will have to see how it goes as we may be meeting up with family.
Have a great weekend. Run free and stay well.
