The News
Something odd is going on with $HBD today. All the trading seems to be on Upbit exchanges so most people can probably not sell at that price. Let me know if you do.
Meanwhile $HIVE dipped under 5c for a short time, but has closed the gap with the legacy crapcoin.
I tend to use peakd on my PC and @asgarth announced some updates including a new landing page. That does matter as it may be the first thing a potential Hiver sees. They also introduced some paid tiers that allow for uploading more images and access to AI tools. These are pretty cheap, but many people may not need those facilities. I do not tend to us any AI content in my posts.

@meno came up with another way to use the blockchain by storing notes on it. These are encrypted and allow you access from anywhere. I use Google Keep that does something similar, but this offers more privacy.
@threespeak have expanded the options for audio content. It looks like it can work for podcasts that can be downloaded in various apps. You can create playlists that each have their own feed.
@epodcaster wrote about this. I think you can do chapters within a recording now.
@nicklewis posted about audio albums.
@cryptoreforma has a new tool to discover Hive communities.
@ds-tech features some Linux apps that you may want to check out. Many of these were new to me.
- Thanks to
@buttcoins and the crew for having me on the Hive Thrive show this week. This happens every Tuesday on Discord where people can chat during the interview. It is a lot of fun. The recordings should be available at some point.
Hive in Meatspace
@shanibeer has organised a meetup in London that happens tomorrow!
The Dog House
There were some more comments offering 'Hive air drops' this week. Those will always be fake and should be treated with suspicion. Anything coming from a brand new account that may have a low reputation should trigger your 'spidey senses'.
Someone I know had his social accounts compromised this week. I am not sure how it happened, but his Discord was posting scams and he may be locked out of Hive. We always have to be really careful. With Hive you have responsibility for your security. As a minimum you should check that your recovery account is someone you trust who does have access to it. If it is Steem or some old account you lost the keys for then change it. This gives you some chance to recover your account. If you suspect that your keys have been compromised then change them. This is simple to do in apps like peakd. You can always ask for help on how to do it.
Also be suspicious of 'support' accounts popping up in Discord trying to divert you to a private channel. Nobody should be asking for your keys.
On the internet you have to be constantly vigilant. Crooks are looking to steal crypto and if you lose it then there is little chance of getting it back.
The End
It is always great to see Hive apps/dapps appearing and developing. I know a lot is being done with AI tools, but is that such a bad thing? It lets people turn ideas into reality, but they need to ensure that security is not compromised. I would hope they all use Keychain or other methods that do not expose keys. That gives you some control and lets you check if transactions are what you expect.
Stay safe and Hive five!
