Hello everyone, first thing this morning, I decided to do an intense training session at the stadium: 5 x 1 km speed intervals in zone 4 (threshold) and zone 5 (maximum), with 1 minute of recovery between each interval. This type of training is essential for improving both my speed and endurance.

When I arrived at the stadium, I did a warm-up. Once I was ready, I started the first set. The goal was to run each kilometer at a speed that would take me to my zone 4, where my heart rate stays between 80% and 90% of my maximum. This allows me to get close to my anaerobic threshold, which means I'm working hard but can still sustain the effort.

After completing the first set, I took a minute to recover. During those brief moments, I took the opportunity to catch my breath and get mentally prepared for the next set. I kept this up for the rest of the sets, but when I moved into zone 5, where the intensity is at its highest, I felt how each step became a real challenge, but also an opportunity to push myself.

Doing speed sets in these zones is crucial. They help me increase my aerobic capacity, improve my body's efficiency when running, and most importantly, raise my anaerobic threshold. This means I will be able to run faster for longer periods without excessive fatigue. At the end of the 5 sets, I felt great satisfaction for the effort I had put in, knowing that each session brings me closer to my running goals.

I am always ready to continue improving and challenging my limits on the road to the 2026 CAF Marathon.
