Lately, I noticed that my diet has been slowly changing again, and unfortunately, not in the direction that I wanted LOL.

For the past few months, I have been craving sweets more often. I started drinking soft drinks again, and milk tea somehow made its way back into my routine as well. These are actually drinks that I already removed from my diet a long time ago, but I guess bad habits sometimes know how to sneak their way back without us noticing.

Then recently, I looked at my tummy and thought... okay, something needs to change hahaha!

I definitely don't want to wake up one day and suddenly realize that I'm already overweight. I've experienced that before many years ago. Back then, I didn't react early enough until I finally noticed that I had gained quite a bit of weight. I immediately enrolled in a gym and consistently worked out for around three months. Thankfully, it helped a lot, but it was definitely not an easy process.

Now, years later, I feel like I'm slowly slipping into the same kind of routine again.

The problem this time is that my work schedule is quite busy, so doing regular gym workouts isn't really convenient for me. Instead of waiting until things get worse, I decided that I should start with something that I can control more easily—my diet.

And my current strategy is very simple: replace the sweet desserts and sugary cold drinks with fruits!

Of course, fruits still contain calories and natural sugar, but I like the fact that I'm also getting fiber and other nutrients from them. More importantly, they satisfy that craving for something sweet after a meal, which is exactly what I need right now.

My usual fruit after lunch is an apple. Recently, I've been enjoying the Joya Italian Apple. I really like its size because it's not too big and not too small. Since I usually eat it after my main meal, I don't want an enormous apple that feels like another meal by itself LOL. The Joya apple is just enough for me to finish comfortably.

But I've also started making some new fruit discoveries!

One of them is Yellow Pitahaya. Just looking at its bright yellow skin already makes it quite interesting compared to the usual dragon fruit that I see. I got a box of these beautiful fruits, and I like how they feel like a more exciting alternative whenever I'm craving dessert.

I also tried the China Pepino Melon, which was another interesting find. I think discovering fruits like these makes this little diet adjustment much more enjoyable because it doesn't feel like I'm depriving myself of something. I'm simply replacing one kind of sweet treat with another.

What I enjoy about both the Yellow Pitahaya and Pepino Melon is the balance of sweetness and slight tanginess. They're refreshing without feeling overwhelmingly sweet, which is exactly the kind of flavor that I'm looking for nowadays.

Hopefully, this small change will help me get my diet back on track before I reach the point where I need another three-month gym rescue mission hahaha!

For now, I'm happy to keep exploring the fruit section and see what other interesting discoveries I can find.

Bon appetit!
