The selected authors share their passion through stories and photos, for their favourite black liquid gold, commonly called coffee, and some special meals that complimented it.

"The streets of this part of Ashikaga made me feel like I had time travelled to the heian or Edo period, everything looked historic and artistic.As we walked the streets we were greeted with "irasshaimase" which means welcome in English. We were offered some misou soup from the "Omiyage omise" (souvenir shop) staff. It did us good as the weather was chilly. To the left you can see an old style sembe (rice cracker) stall looking like it has been there for generations."

"The other day I found out I can also heat my boat this winter with coffee! I thought to myself ‘ well I’m just going to have to give this a go! So While I was doing my usual supply run I decided on a whim to purchase some of these coffee logs for our wood/coal burner onboard Badger the Narrowboat. I was thinking ‘Let’s give them a go and see how they burn’ I love burning stuff so why the hell not?"

"Today I had Brazilian Medium Roast Bean .. very interesting flavor, and a pretty distinctive flavor in the bean .. The coffee bean is dried inside the fruit so that some of the sweetness of the fruit carries the taste in to the coffee. The coffee bean comes from trees of the traditional Latin-American variety of Arabica called bourbon. The way i had it was a Latte first, then as a Mocha."

The coffee I am having today is a Columbian bean , medium roast, It is a beautiful roast that brings out the chocolate flavor, especially when drank with low fat milk ... it is like you are drinking caffeinated chocolate.. mild taste and not so bitter, i would not mind trying this coffee as a bit of a darker roast to see what flavors it will have."

I love to make layers of wedding cakes because I love decorating them. When my daughter went abroad, it has become her little business too, hence she had collected all the necessary tools and equipments in baking. One of the specialty that we love to bake is our delicious Moist Chocolate Cake. We receive orders too.
