Hello, dear bloggers and food lovers! I hope you’re all having a great day. Do you guys like coffee? Today I made coffee buns, one of a perfect treat for a relaxing afternoon. I’ve really missed baking bread like this; the coffee aroma is so fragrant, especially right out of the oven, and the taste isn’t too sweet either. Okay, let’s get right to it.
Ingredients:
Bun ingredients:
- 20 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp instant yeast
- a pinch of salt
- 200 ml milk
- 2 tbsp margarine
Topping ingredients:
- 1 tbsp instant coffee
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp hot water
- 1 tbsp margarine
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
Instructions:
Bun:
- Place the all-purpose flour in a bowl
- Add the instant yeast
- Add the sugar to the bowl
- Crack the egg and add the yolk to the bowl
- Add the milk
- Stir until well combined and a dough forms
- Add the margarine and a pinch of salt
Knead until well combined and smooth
Close and cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hour
- Once the dough has risen, knead it again and divide it into 7 portions
Flatten each portion and fill with margarine
Fold the dough over to enclose the filling
- Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes
Coffee Topping:
- Place the ground coffee in a bowl
- Add sugar
- Dissolve with a little hot water
- Add the egg white, then stir until well combined
- Add margarine and all-purpose flour
Stir until a thick batter forms
Place the coffee batter into a piping bag
- Pour the coffee topping over the rested bun
- Place it in an oven that has been preheated for 10 minutes
- Put the bread in the oven and bake at 180°C for 25 minutes
- Remove from the oven and let cool
- The Coffee Bun is ready to eat
