Random Movies From 2007

One of my favorites that year was Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. It was the first Jack Sparrow films that I've ever seen in theaters. I'm a sucker for the Captain Jack Sparrow. So, I dug up the action and the lore. Parts of the series may be silly but it's also fun. And I like fun. 3:10 to Yuma was an epic western film.

My favorite musical was Enchanted which I saw with friends on Christmas Day in Hawaii. Ghost Rider was a dark Nicholas Cage movie that kind of scared the Hell out of me since Satan was in it. The funniest animated film I saw in 2007 was probably Flushed Away. But I was also excited about watching TMNT.

Random Movies

Here is a list of some random movies I saw that year. I may have seen some movies that year or after that. I may have seen older movies (from previous years) that year as well. I may have seen some of these films in theater or elsewhere. This list may not be complete or entirely accurate. Most of the dates on this list are of when these movies premiered in U.S. theaters. I may not always know exactly when I saw some of these movies.

Music and Lyrics

2007-02-14 - Wednesday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I eventually saw this somewhere. It has an iconic song in it. It stars Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore who are amazing together in this movie. This romance comedy movie is worth watching. I probably saw this movie before 2012 but not sure which year.

Ghost Rider

2007-02-16 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this Nicholas Cage movie in theaters probably in February of 2007 in West Virginia. I have memories in my head of seeing it in theaters and I think I saw it before the summer that year meaning on the East Coast since I wasn't back to Oregon until May 2007.

Flushed Away

2007-02-20 - Tuesday - DVD release

I first saw this on DVD during ABC movie night. I was laughing so hard when the frogs or whatever they are were singing.

The Number 23

2007-02-23 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

If I didn't see it in theaters, then I saw this Jim Carrey movie eventually and it was like a deep dive into alleged conspiracy theories. I started watching Alex Jones in 2016. So, this movie came out years before that. This movie might be a little silly. But at the same time, I loved how he was connecting dots in trying to figure things out. Not sure when or where I saw it but I did enjoy it when I did. Well, it's a pretty dark movie most of the time and yet it had my attention the entire time.

TMNT

2007-03-23 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie on a laptop or phone. It might have been on my first ever laptop which I got from Matthew around the end of 2006-2007 school year at ABC. I bought my first ever laptop for $50 exactly. The movie is cool to an extent. Not my favorite TMNT film but it is pretty cool. Not very cool but unique and interesting. The art style is pretty cool. I remember watching this movie at ABC. I went back to Oregon around May of 2007 which means I saw this movie before that in March, April, or May of 2007. It came out on DVD on August 7, 2007 which means I saw a boot-leg version or pirated version. The plot is unique. The back story goes 3,000 years ago, a warlord named Yaotl opens a portal into a parallel universe. The portal's energies grant Yaotl and his four sibling generals immortality, but the generals are turned to stone. The portal also releases 13 immortal monsters that destroy his army and his enemies while becoming the famous mythical monsters of legend as the centuries pass. Back to the present time, the turtles have already defeated Shredder and are divided. So, it is like a sequel story. For example, Master Splinter has sent Leonardo to Central America for training.

Night at the Museum

2007-04-24 - U.S. DVD release - 2006-12-22 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw the movie after it came out on DVD. It came out on DVD in the U.S. on the 24th of April of 2007. This movie stars Ben Stiller, Carla Gugino, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Bill Cobbs, Robin Williams. I probably first saw it while I was at ABC which means before June of 2007.

Spider-Man 3

2007-05-04 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

If I didn't see this Tobey Macquire movie in theaters, then I eventually saw it but not sure when or where. I thought it was kind of cool. I wasn't as excited as the first movie of that trilogy but it was a bit exciting when I first saw it. As of 2021, Tobey is still my favorite actor to portray the Spider-Man character.

28 Weeks Later

2007-05-04 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I either saw this and/or 30 Days of Night. Perhaps I've not seen this movie. But the plot is almost like a window into what globalists did and/or what they try to do. So, I might be confusing and conflating between two different movies. I have memories of 30 Days of Night. I don't really have memories of 28 Weeks Later.

Pan's Labyrinth

2007-05-15 - Tuesday - U.S. DVD release

I saw this at a friend's house, Dennis. I mean his apartment room. It was around the time I was living in the Alder Housing Apartments or whatever it was called, 2008-2010, it was in Portland, Oregon, USA. Well, the name of the place was either Alder or Alders. The movie was kind of boring and kind of scary. I remember like a small girl who gets stuck somewhere. There is a monster with weird eyes on his like hands. She has to escape. That is just about all I can remember. A weird place like underground with tree roots. Weird lighting system. Strange creepy noises.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

2007-05-25 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this third Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow film in theaters in June or July of 2007 with Mike Kurtz, Megan McQuade, etc. It was during the summer while working at The Salvation Army's Camp Kuratli at Trestle Glen in Boring, Oregon. So, we probably went to a theater in Portland. But not sure exactly when or where. But around that time. But I was excited to go see it. Mike paid for my ticket as he would sometimes. I enjoyed the entire movie. Perhaps it was a silly movie but I guess I was really into silly adventure movies and still am in some ways.

Knocked Up

2007-06-01 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I probably saw it at Revolution Hawaii 2007-2008 with Jeff Walters and Blake Webb. I think it was silly but kind of funny movie.

Ocean's Thirteen

2007-06-08 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

Not sure when or where I first saw this sequel movie with an all-star cast. I enjoyed watching it. Pretty mind blowing. I remember watching it on my laptop some years later but not sure if I saw it before that too.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

2007-06-15 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I eventually saw this Jessica Alba movie but probably not in the theaters, I have no memories of that meaning I probably saw it later on before like 2013 is my guess but not what year or where. It was an interesting movie. Kind of exciting on the same level in some ways as the Tobey Macquire's Spider-Man movies.

Evan Almighty

2007-06-22 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I either saw in theaters or saw it later on. I thought it was a little funny and interesting. I watched it because I was curious about this sequel film. The first movie is more exciting as it starred Jim Carrey as Bruce Almighty. This movie stars Steve Carrell as Evan and Morgan Freeman returns as God. Evan has to build an ark as if he was Noah. Wanda Sykes is in it.

Live Free or Die Hard

2007-06-27 - Wednesday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I probably watched this Bruce Willis sequel movie but not sure when or where. I love the Die Hard films and this one was probably pretty good. I've seen some of the Die Hard movies over the years but I kind of forget which ones and when and where. But I like them similar to how I enjoy the Mission Impossible films.

Ratatouille

2007-06-27 - Wednesday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I've only seen bits and pieces of the cartoon movie. I think Megan McQuade said the human chef guy reminded her of me. Either that or she was talking about the rat. I think she was talking about the man, the human. I think she was encouraging me to go watch it.

Transformers

2007-07-03 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

The first live-action Transformers movie premiered in U.S. theaters in July of 2007, that is the summer of 2007 on my mother's birthday. I probably saw this in theaters in Oregon or it was a different Transformers movies a different year. But most likely it was this first one and it was probably the only one I ever saw in theaters and I've not really watched much of the other Transformer movies over the years because I don't care too much for the movies. I saw bits and pieces of the cartoon series since like the 1990s. The cartoons are from like the 1980s and I was born in 1985. So, I grew up with the pop culture references. Mike Kurtz would quote Transformers ("More than meets the eye"), G.I. Joe, the Thunder Cats, etc. Outside of Mike, I would see and watch some of those things on and off over the years. I'm into pop culture references. I think it is cool and fun to quote and copy and impersonate like Weird Al and others. But with that said, this first Transformers live-action movie is not the coolest. The idea of it is cool but the actual movie is not very cool. In some ways, kind of cool as the first ever live-action movie about the Transformers. So, I thought it was pretty cool at the time. I sort of enjoyed watching it. Megan Fox was attractive and probably still is. Shia LaBeouf is an interesting actor. So, it was iconic at that time to some extent. Transformers are like Power Ranger Zords or giant robots. Like a big iron robot but with no action figures inside.

License to Wed

2007-07-03 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this movie in theaters in Hawaii in 2007 or 2008. This movie stars Robin Williams and Mandy Moore. I'm a fan of them and especially Robin who I started watching in theaters in the 1990s. The other Mandy Moore movie I've seen in theaters was back in 2002, A Walk To Remember.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

2007-07-11 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I probably saw this in theaters in Hawaii the fall of 2007 or later on in 2008. I think it was the first and only Harry Potter movies I saw in theaters. I don't know if this was the one I saw in theaters but probably this one. It was a pretty good movie. I love the lore of Harry Potter on a generic level.

Hairspray

2007-07-20 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this John Travolta in Hawaii in 2007 or 2008 at a guy's house near The Upper Room. It's a funny and interesting movie. It's silly and weird. There is not much to the story I don't think. A small film. The plot is set in 1962 Baltimore.

The Simpsons Movie

2007-07-27 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

If I didn't see it in theaters, then I saw it later on somewhere. I enjoyed watching it since I'm a fan of the series since the 1990s.

The Bourne Ultimatum

2007-08-03 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I don't remember when or where I first saw this Matt Damon movie but I thought it was pretty cool since I'm a fan of the series.

Superbad

2007-08-17 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this with Jeff Walters and Blake Webb. I this movie had a lot of swearing which caught my attention. It was a somewhat fun movie.

3:10 to Yuma

2007-09-07 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this movie at the theater in Hawaii in 2007 with Jeff Walters and Blake Webb. We saw the movie in September, October, or November of 2007 at a theater in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. I wasn't really wanting to see that Russell Crowe movie but that was film Jeff and Blake were going to watch. I ended up going with them. I decided to watch it with them. The plot is set in 1884 Arizona, USA. It's an interesting American western. Oh, Christian Bale (Batman) was in it as well. It is the second adaptation of Elmore Leonard's 1953 short story "Three-Ten to Yuma", after the 1957 film of the same name. It came out in theaters on Friday, the seventh day of September of 2007. We saw it at a dollar theater which probably means we saw it a few weeks or longer after it premiered.

Resident Evil: Extinction

2007-09-21 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

Not sure when or where I first saw this but I think I saw it or at least bits and pieces of it. I thought it was interesting a bit but was not very excited about it. But interesting lore relating to zombies at least. I was attracted to Milla Jovovich. She is almost as cool as Angelina Jolie.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - Brad Pitt, Casey Affleck, Sam Shepard, Mary-Louise Parker, Paul Schneider, Jeremy Renner, Zooey Deschanel, Sam Rockwell.

30 Days of Night

2007-10-19 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I probably saw this movie at Matt Kurtz before 2013 or maybe it was somewhere else. I forget which year but I remember it begin crazy with a lot of bllod. Lots of gore. I watched it mostly because I was curious. It got my attention but was not my kind of movie. Plot is set in Alaska. I thought it was about zombies. According to Wikipedia however, it might be about vampires. I might be confusing my memories of this movie with a few other movies or maybe not.

Saw IV

2007-10-26 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I probably saw this 4th Saw film in theaters in Hawaii in 2007 or 2008. It was the first and only Saw movie I saw in theaters as of 2021. It may have been the first Saw movie I've ever seen or I might have seen others before or at least bits and pieces before that. Saw it not my cup of tea. I saw it to study the genre. I saw it for similar reasons for why I saw 30 Days of Night. It is fear porn. It is crazy evil. Satan loves this stuff. It is insane. Some people like it. But you shouldn't watch stuff like this. But the world is scary. So, it is a window into a scary world.

American Gangster

2007-11-02 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I think I saw this on the Big Island in Hawaii around November or December of 2007. I was there with Jeff Walters around Thanksgiving and through to Saturday, the 15th day of December of 2007. In other words, we were there around three weeks on the big island and must have saw this Denzel Washington movie around that time. I thought it was interesting of a film.

Bee Movie - Jerry Seinfeld, Renée Zellweger, Matthew Broderick, John Goodman, Patrick Warburton, Chris Rock

Beowulf

2007-11-05 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this Angelina Jolie animation film in theaters in Hawaii in 2007 or 2008. The plot is set in 507 A.D. in Denmark. It stars a warrior who reminds me of Brad Pitt.

Hitman

2007-11-21 - Wednesday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I don't remember seeing this movie. SO, therefore, I probably didn't. But it's an interesting action thriller film I think. I would have to watch it to confirm that.

The Mist

2007-11-21 - Wednesday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw it Camp Kuratli with friends in 2007 or 2008. It had me on the edge of my seat. It was shocking and kind of cool. Not the coolest movie but it was engaging. It had my attention to a small degree. It was a pretty good Stephen King adaptation.

The Golden Compass

2007-12-07 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this Nicole Kidman movie in theaters in Hawaii probably in December of 2007 or as late as like January of 2008. It was a unique story to have people walk around with their souls inside their pet animals. The execution of telling the story may not be any better than the Star Wars Prequels. I don't really like the idea of the plot but I was curious as to where they were going to tell the story and take the story. I was sort of bored watching it but was curious in a nerd kind of way. The movie is kind of stupid but a little entertaining. Not really my kind of movie. It's a fantasy adventure film. The plot is set on an alternative earth. The animal companion is called a demon or daemon or something like that. That is what Pokemon means, Pocket Monster or demon.

I Am Legend

2007-12-14 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I probably saw this Will Smith movie in theaters in Hawaii in 2007 or 2008. My first impression was that it was boring for the most part. The zombies were created by vaccines similar to how Covid is being spread via the Covid Vaccines in 2021 for example. So, the movie is interesting and educational as it is a parody of Covid Vaccines. It is a little entertaining. But it is mostly boring and stupid. I love Will Smith and tolerated the film when I originally saw it.

Alvin and the Chipmunks

2007-12-14 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I either saw in theaters or later on is my guess. This live-action film adaptation of the cartoon series I used to watch on television in the 1990s was pretty good. I mean it is comparable to the live-action adaptation of Scooby Doo. So, it's made for children. It's ok. It's not crazy good.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets

2007-12-21 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I don't know when I saw this sequel movie but I eventually did before like 2010 is my guess. I saw the first Nicholas Cage movie of the series at ABC 2006-2007. I was at ABC those two years and saw it then at somebody's house in West Virginia. I enjoyed watching.

Charlie Wilson's War

2007-12-21 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I remember watching this Tom Hanks movie in theaters in Hawaii in 2007 or 2008. It was a little boring but also a little educational and interesting. Not my favorite movie in the world but I chose to watch it as I wanted to learn a little history.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

2007-12-21 - Friday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I saw this Johnny Depp movie in theaters in Hawaii in 2007 or 2008. It's a musical. It's intriguing. He is a killer barber. He makes meat pies from the dead bodies. He throws his GF into the furnace where she burns to death. I have memories of that part. I have memories of Jack Sparrow killing and tossing the bodies down a hole from the barber chairs. I enjoyed the singing parts. I enjoyed the entire movie because it is shocking and surprising. I had no idea what to expect. It was a dark movie set in 1846 London.

The Bucket List

2007-12-25 - Tuesday - U.S. theatrical premiere

I didn't watch it but I would see the trailers which caught my attention since I'm a fan of Jack Nicholson who was Joker in a Batman movie and especially Morgan Freeman who was also in a Batman movie. I may have seen bits and pieces of this movie over the years. It's about two old guys doing things before they die, their bucket list of things they wanted to do before they die.

Enchanted

2007-12-25 - Tuesday - U.S. theatrical premiere

My memory says I saw it Christmas Day with Salvation Army's Dave Hudson and his family at a theater in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. I had a blast watching all the dancing and singing. It is a fun movie with memorable songs. My favorite song is the one about how do you know that he loves you. The movie came out in U.S. theaters on November 21, 2007. It stars the adoring Amy Adams.

U.S. Theatrical Premiere

The dates I've provided here for U.S. theater premieres are from Wikipedia. I've listed these dates to help me know a general ballpark as to when I might have seen some of these movies in the big screen. Movies would play in the cinema for three months or less, generally speaking. A lot of movies stay in theaters for no more than a month. Many of the movies would come out on VHS video or DVD within a year after their theatrical release. Some of them come out on video within as little as three to six months sometimes. Some movies are released direct to video and are not shown in theaters.

Random

I included random movies, some which I may have seen and some which I may not have seen that year or any year to date. Not every movie may be listed. I may have watched older movies from previous years during this year as well. This is basically a rough draft outline of a few movies from this year. I've included notes to reminded myself of when I may have seen some of these films. So, some of these movies I may have seen not that year but in following years after that.
