Yesterday we hiked back up to Silver Lake. This time we took the most direct route. 1.5 miles up from the parking lot on the shore of Lake Dunmore with about 730 feet of elevation gain.

Its been raining in Vermont. I took a few photos of one of my apple trees between the storms. This is a Liberty apple tree planted in November 2021.

We got out for a hike this morning. Great Vermont summer day. Relatively low humidity, 57F this morning with a high of 81F. Hiked up to Silver Lake and back.

Here are some current photos of flowers in our flower beds. I was out watering my young trees today (which is essentially a too long series of 5 minute timers 🙄) and I took some time to photograph flowers.

Monarch butterflies are out in Vermont 🙂 I got a few photos of a Monarch and a bee.

Lovely day in Vermont. Our neighbor offered to let us pick some of his raspberries. We picked 4 and half pints.

Greetings from a lovely day in Vermont. Smoke cleared out and both humidity and temperatures dropped. It got down to 51F last night 🙂

Got a great shot of this great blue heron by the outlet of the lake. He has been hanging around in the shallows and on the docks. Another exciting shot of a fledgling barred owl.

I'm obsessing over our flowers lately. These are coneflowers. I really liked this photo. So many coneflowers in different stages, it seemed almost like a collage.

Our relatively mild and wet spring has got the garden off to a good start. Now we could use a little rain to go with the summer heat.

The summer passes so quickly. We are finally having some nice Vermont days. 50F's at night and 70F's during the day. Windows open all day and night. Really pleasant.

Summer has officially begun. I have a few photos from the last week or so. Starting with an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. And a Spicebush Swallowtail.

I found (ok was taken to) some yellow lady slippers on a recent hike. One of our neighbors shared a yellow lady slipper habitat they check every year. Unfortunately there was evidence of more foot traffic

Trillium wild flowers have come and gone for this season. I got a few photos recently.There are two type in my area. The white with red splashes are Painted Trillium. The other is the solid red Trillium.

Only Tulips. This post is only tulips. Only tulips in my beds. Only one shot per tulip. We are delighted with our tulips this year.
