Here are some current photos of flowers in our flower beds. I was out watering my young trees today (which is essentially a too long series of 5 minute timers 馃檮) and I took some time to photograph flowers.
All these flowers are perennials or grown for seed this year.
I think at this point everything has bloomed except for my dahlias which are getting close.
Its amazing the things you can do 5 minutes at a time lol first I usually listen to the NPR and Times news podcasts.
Then I fix some coffee. Sometime I forage the edge of the forest for berries (or sneak some out of our garden before my wife comes out and we harvest for the day).
Finally, I usually get around to what I should be doing and pull weeds. You can do more than you think in 5 minutes. Not very efficient but the inefficiency actually makes the time pass faster 馃槅
Its also a great time for wildlife observation. Mostly birds. Sometimes I here the loons calling if they are moving around. A small hawk lives nearby and often flies over this time of morning. The robin, sparrows and flycatchers are usually active in the yard. Right now the cedar waxwings are hanging around eating honeysuckle berries. Its a nice commune with nature once I get settled down and pay attention 馃檪
