  • Week: Sunday, October 18 – Sunday, October 25, 2026
  • Focus: Taking action in business and romance, for the general collective
  • Deck: Star Trek: The Next Generation Tarot (Bat’leths = Swords, Starships = Cups, Latinum = Pentacles, Cloaks = Wands)

In one line: Break orbit. Stop grinding on autopilot, make a small, honest, well-priced first move, and let hope lead the way.

The Spread

Cards read in layout order: top row, middle row, bottom row, left to right.

PositionMeaningCard
1 & 2The Past (read as a set)The Hierophant (V) + Ace of Bat’leths
3The TriggerFour of Starships
4Current State of Being (heart of the reading)Eight of Latinum (reversed)
5Direction of the Present CourseKing of Latinum
6 & 7The Future (read as a set)Page of Latinum + The Star (XVII)

1 & 2 — The Past: The Hierophant + Ace of Bat’leths

The Hierophant is Starfleet protocol: inherited rules, institutions, and the “proper” way things are done. The Ace of Bat’leths is Klingon honor: one clean cut of truth. Together they describe a recent stretch when many people ran into unwritten scripts (the proper career ladder, the proper relationship timeline, the proper way to price and pitch) and a moment of blunt clarity sliced through. Something was said plainly, a rule stopped making sense, or a hard truth landed. The collective is still sorting out which rules deserve loyalty and which deserve the blade.

3 — The Trigger: Four of Starships

Four ships hold station around a glowing blue star, each keeping its distance. That’s the Prime Directive in picture form: observe, don’t engage. As the Four of Cups, it’s contemplation sliding into apathy, a pause to reassess, an offer hovering just outside your attention. The spark for this chapter is a collective “wait and see” mood: leads left unanswered, proposals unsent, romantic prospects watched from orbit. The card’s quiet warning is that the offer may already be on the table while you stare inward.

4 — Current State of Being: Eight of Latinum (Reversed)

Eight bars of latinum, flipped upside-down: the stack is still there, but the craft has gone hollow. At the heart of the reading, the collective is going through the motions. Think burnout, repetitive effort that isn’t paying out, perfectionism that polishes instead of ships, or hard work aimed at the wrong target. It follows naturally from the Four of Starships (after the pause and the apathy, the grind continues on autopilot) and from the Hierophant (scripts followed without being questioned).

The reversal is a call for adjustment, not a verdict of failure. The skill is real. The direction and the heart need recalibrating. In business, that means quality over busywork. In love, it means routine and performance have crowded out presence.

5 — Direction of the Present Course: King of Latinum

A Ferengi in a dark robe and pale fur wrap, composed and unhurried: mastery of resources, shrewd negotiation, and knowing exactly what something is worth. Coming right after a reversed Eight, the King reads as both direction and remedy: the collective is being steered toward a steadier, more businesslike hand that restructures the workload, reprices the work, and invests in what lasts. Ask honestly whether you picked this heading or circumstances picked it for you. The King’s shadow is the ledger mindset, treating clients, partners, or lovers as transactions.

6 & 7 — The Future: Page of Latinum + The Star

The Page is a Ferengi in a golden tunic with a sly sidelong grin: a new venture, a first small deal, a lesson worth paying for. The Star is hope after turbulence: healing, honesty, and a guiding light (the green data-lights behind the young Starfleet officer glow like a field of stars). Together, the outcome is a humble, practical reset guided by real hope, not a windfall.

  • Business: pilots, test offers, collaborations, and learning investments that put meaning back into the work.
  • Romance: a sincere, slow-building start, or a gentle restart, where trust is rebuilt through small, honest, tangible gestures.

Numerology adds a wink: XVII reduces to 8, so the Star is the Eight turned right-side up, with effort reconnected to hope. Do you want this outcome, or would you rather rewrite it? If you’d rather rewrite it, your levers are the Four of Starships (stop orbiting) and the reversed Eight (stop grinding on autopilot).

Overall Thread

Rules and a hard truth (past) → a watchful pause (trigger) → going through the motions (present) → a steadier, more businesslike hand (direction) → a humble reset under a guiding star (future).

Two structural notes. Positions 4, 5, and 6 are all Latinum, so the material world is where the action is. And there’s no Cloaks (Wands) anywhere in the spread: no fire, no stealth. Nothing is hidden, but nothing is forcing the pace either. That missing fire is why the week can feel flat, so supply it on purpose with one concrete action.

Action Orders: Business

  • Break orbit. Send the proposal, pitch, invoice follow-up, or application you’ve been “observing.” The offer is already in range.
  • Audit the grind (Eight reversed). Name one habitual task that no longer pays in money, learning, or joy, and cut, delegate, or redesign it. If perfectionism is the leak, ship the good-enough version.
  • Name your worth (King). Set rates, terms, and boundaries plainly, and negotiate from steadiness rather than need. Don’t discount work that is draining you.
  • Start small (Page). A pilot, test offer, collaboration, or course. A student’s curiosity puts the heart back into the craft.
  • Listen, then offer (Prime Directive). Listening isn’t orbiting: ask one real question before you propose anything. Rule of Acquisition #7: “Keep your ears open.”
  • Confirm terms in writing before Mercury turns. Rule of Acquisition #8: “Small print leads to large risk.”

Action Orders: Romance

  • Break orbit, kindly (Ace of Bat’leths). Single: send the message or make the invitation. Partnered: have the conversation you’ve been postponing. Either way, keep it brief, honest, and clean: clarity without cruelty.
  • Stop performing (Eight reversed). Dating burnout and relationship autopilot both run on routine and checklists. Plan something unrehearsed: a new place, a real question, an hour without screens. If you’re single, drop the audition and show up as you are.
  • Skip the ledger (King’s shadow). Love isn’t a negotiation, so don’t keep score.
  • Be a beginner (Page). Curiosity, patience, and plain sincerity. Learn the person in front of you instead of assuming.
  • Honor the Prime Directive. Invite, don’t steer. Nobody’s heart is yours to fix.
  • Let hope show (Star). Vulnerability is the point. If an old connection resurfaces, treat it as a review, not an automatic reboot.

Cosmic Backdrop

  • Venus is retrograde (since Oct 3, until Nov 13–14): love and money are in review mode. She slips back into Libra on Oct 25.
  • Oct 23: the Sun enters Scorpio and retrograde Venus lines up with it (a cazimi), a potent moment for honest feelings about love and value.
  • Mercury stations retrograde Oct 24–25 (depending on time zone) and runs through Nov 13. Initiate, send, and sign earlier in the week, then shift to follow-through and double-checking.

Retrograde season echoes the reversed Eight: the sky is asking for review and refinement, not a big launch.

Mantra for the week: Engage — at impulse power, not warp 9.
