Preparation
How can we make a difference if we want to bring or give something to someone or to the moment?
There is, in fact, a prerequisite for this action. We cannot give anything, nor can we offer anything that we do not have.
We cannot share love with others if we do not have or feel love within ourselves. Deep inside. We cannot teach anything unless we already possess some knowledge within ourselves.
Therefore, anything we wish to bring into our lives must first be learned or possessed by ourselves.
We can only give what has already been given to us, or what we have previously sought to understand.
Preparation is therefore essential. A mindset of preparation equips us with a greater number of tools. If we can reflect on our inner processes, it will leave us better prepared for life.
And it doesn’t necessarily have to be a constant source of worry.
Just as a traveler prepares for a trip with a suitcase, packing the essentials they might need along the way, so too should our attitude be. We don’t need to carry the things that will cause us the most trouble. And in this way, we shouldn’t try to “pack” everything into our suitcase, at the risk of the trip taking longer because of the excess baggage we carry and our excessive worries.
Traveling light is also something I’ve been working on. I notice it even on the short trips I take on weekends. My backpack is getting smaller and smaller, and it always comes back lighter than when I left. I can even take more things, but only because I want to share and give away certain items—and return with a full heart and a lighter bag!
