Good evening, #Monomad friends
Here is my entry for the #monomad contest by @brumest and
@monochromes.
Showing off the best we have to offer sometimes makes us too convinced of our own abilities. We lose the ability to look around us and appreciate the “non-self.”
A simple stroll through the Belém Botanical Garden last May provided me with a very interesting experience. I came across a group of artists who were expressing their identity as citizens of countries that had been former Portuguese colonies. Many questions arise regarding this period of our history.
Some people simply want to erase from “history” the events that do not suit them. But would that really solve anything?
If we sweep something so complex under the rug, wouldn’t that lead us to become overly full of ourselves—which would, in turn, prevent us from learning important lessons from history?
Everything is interconnected. There are people who still believe that their actions and decisions have little or no influence on what is happening around them.
But that is impossible—it could never happen.
I hope you enjoyed my post here in the B&W community
